Baltimore at San Francisco 4:05 ET

Giants over Orioles- It took 58 games but the Giants have scratched and clawed all the way back to reached .500 at 29-29. Yesterday’s Power Play win with SF should be repeated here Sunday as a Megabucks winner with San Francisco sending Anthony DeScalafani (4-4, 3.48 ERA) to the bump against Baltimore’s Tyler Wells (3-2, 3.29). Wells has been truly amazing allowing just 40 hits in 63 innings pitched all in 11 appearances giving up more than four hits only three times. Traveling west has not been a good experience for the Orioles as they are 4-10 against the NL West and the Giants are 5-2 in their last seven inter-league games. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

New York Yankees at LA Dodgers 7:10 ET

Dodgers over Yankees- I love when these two iconic baseball powers meet as the video of yesteryear will be shown over again with Don Larson, Reggie Jackson, Don Newcome and a slew of others in black and white footage (except Reggie). New York will send undefeated and Cy Young candidate Gerrit Cole (6-0, 2.93 ERA) to the hill and he has been racked for five earned runs in each of his last two starts but was bailed out by a load of Aaron Judge homers. The Dodgers will send rookie Michael Grove (0-1, 8.44) out against what is not such a formidable line-up even with whiff artist Stanton back. Somehow it is LOS ANGELES!

Seattle at Texas 8:05 ET

Mariners over Rangers- Both clubs will be sending out their best of this season in a battle between a pair of right-handers as the Rangers send Jon Gray (5-1, 2.81 ERA) to the bump and Seattle will direct Luis Castillo (2.69) to the mound. It pains me to play against Texas as I posted them to be the surprise winner (that is one reason I hate making preseason predictions having to pay against my self.)  What I see is the home club being given no advantage (by the odds-makers) here when they are a far superior club. Last season the Mariners went 14-5 against Texas including 73 in the Lone Star State. This line is just too short...Take SEATTLE!

Cleveland at Minnesota 7:40 ET

Twins over Watch Dogs- With the season almost a third of the gone Cleveland finally had an offensive output yesterday that was a high for hits (17) and runs (12). This for the clubs that has had the best of the AL Central for some time now. Minnesota who is barely over .500 and lead the Central will start Pablo Lopez (3-3, 4.11 ERA) who pitched once against the Indians when he was with Miami and picked up a win. Cleveland will send Tanner Bibee (1-1, 2.88) who can toss the ball at nearly 100 MPH and allowed only one run last time out against St. Louis in seven innings. Former Tribesman are just 3-8 in their last 11 road games and jus 2-7 in their last nine after scoring five runs or more the previous game. Take MINNESOTA!

LA Angels at Chicago White Sox 2:10 ET

White Sox over Angels- I am loving this side from so many angles that they can not help but intersect. Yesterday, going with ole reliable and a main stay when in need of a slump buster we played against the Angels and won out only game since Saturday (1-5)and it was Chicago over these impostors. Chicago was expected to contend for the AL Central but find themselves 11 games under .500. LA has dropped 4-of-5 after winning 4-straight at home. The White Sox have shown some life lately winning five of six against right-handed starters and will have Lance Lynn (4-5, 5.83 ERA) has won his last three starts and has picked up the pace. The woeful Angels will sent Jaime Barria (1-2, 1.55) who is making his thirteenth appearance but just his second start. Take WHITE SOX!

New York Yankees at Seattle 9:40 ET

Mariners- over Yankees- With so many weak spots in their line-up the Yankees have become virtually a ‘as Judge goes so go the Yankees’. The Pride of the Yankees (no he didn’t say that) Aaron Judge hit a pair of home runs and robbed the Mariners of another in the field yesterday will be what Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert (3-2, 3.60 ERA) will have to contend with. New York will send out Nestor Cortes (4-2, 5.30) who although has a winning record has not be anywhere as effective as he was last season. Plus the Mariners are 13-3 in their last home starts against left-hand starters. Take SEATTLE!

NY Yankees at Seattle 7:10 ET

Mariners over Yankees- neither of these two clubs have reached expectations as of yet although they are both starting to play better baseball. Seattle has won six of their last seven and the Yankees have moved to nine games over .500 after a poor start to the season. New York always seems to be in the middle of something and Domingo German (2-3, 3.75 ERA) who has had issues on and off the field is off a 10-day suspension for using too much sticky-stuff and is making his first start since May 16. The Mariners will send rookie Bryce Miller (3-1, 1.15) who has not allowed more than four hits in any of his five MLB starts. Anthony Rizzo the Yankees only .300 hitter will be out after getting hit in the head in a collision with Fernando Tatis Jr. Take SEATTLE!

Boston at Arizona 4;10 ET

Red Sox over Diamondbacks-  Boston has won the first two games of this series as they have held Arizona to just three runs in 2-1 and 7-2 losses. Both of these clubs have played better than most expected and have shown decent profits for backers.Tanner Houck (3-3, 4.99 ERA) will get the start for the Red Sox and he has dropped three straight decisions after opening the season 3-0 and has not won since April 20 a span of six starts.The D’Backs send Merrill Kelly (5-3, 2.99) to the rubber who has won four straight decisions. The Red Sox have won 13 of 16 meetings and Arizona is 8-17 in 25 home inter-league games. Take BOSTON!

St. Louis at Cleveland 7:10 ET

Scalpers over Cardinals- Cleveland the defending AL Central Champions are struggling under .500 due to their lack of offensive output which is at 3.46 runs per game. These boys playing by the Erie are still alive because of a bullpen that is the fifth best in the majors allowing just 3.38 runs per nine innings. St. Louis also a Central Division Champion will start Jack Flaherty (3-4, 5.29 ERA) and he is 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA in nine innings against the former tribe. Rookie Tanner Bibee (1-1, 3.81) will get the nod for the home club and get the win here. Take CLEVELAND!

San Diego at New York Yankees 7:10 ET

Padres over Yankees- I feel like there is something up with this game as in reality the Padres are favored in New York. We are talking about an underachieving San Diego then that was expected to give the West a run for their money but they have disappointed everyone with their play. The Yankees are 15-5 in their last 20 games but have dropped their last two and being an underdog at home makes no sense. The Padres will start Joe Musgrove (1-2, 6.75 ERA) who is facing the Yankees for the first time. New York will start Randy Vasquez who is making his MLB debut and was 1-5 with a 4.85 ERA in AAA ball. Take SAN DIEGO!

New York Mets at Chicago Cubs 7:40 ET

Cubs over Mets- Kyle Hendricks is making his first start of the season and he could not have picked a better mound opponent in the Mets Carlos Carrasco (0-2, 8.89 ERA) who has surrendered 19 hits and 18 runs in 18.2 innings. New York is 2-7 in their last nine road games against right-handers and 1-8 in the last nine against the NL Central. Mutts are also 9-24 in the last 33 meetings and 20-43 at Chicago...OVERKILL! Take CICAGO CUBS!

Houston at Milwaukee 1:10 ET

Brewers over Astros- Houston had their eight game winning streak stopped yesterday as they were shutout after hitting five home runs on Monday in a 12-2 Megabucks win. Baseball is such an in and out game where teams go from one extreme to another such as going from being hot and on win streaks to ice cold. The Astros will send Brandon Bielak (1-1, 2.88 ERA) to the mound and the Brewers will use Adrian Houser (0-0, 3.07)  who is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA on two career appearances. The Brew Crew is 7-2 against the AL West and have dominated Houston at home 39-15 in the last 54 meetings. Take MILWAUKEE!

New York Mets at Chicago Cubs 7:40 ET

Cubs over Mets- The Mets are starting to pay off for owner Steve Cohen who has a blank check when it comes to signings as they have won their last five games. New York had won just six of 22 games before their current winning streak started.  Chicago opened the season 11-6 but have gone 9-20 since including dropping eight of their last 14 at home and they just completed a 2-7 road trip. Burt, the Cubs are going with Drew Smyly (4-1,2.86 ERA) and he is 2-0 with a 2.21 ERA in four career starts against the Mutts. Take the CUBS!

Houston at Milwaukee 7:40 ET

Astros over Brewers- What I see here is a Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes (3-2, 3.86 ERA) an underdog at home and tat rises questions. Burnes has been inconsistent at best and surrendered the most hits in any start this season, last time out giving up eight hits in six innings in a 3-0 loss to St. Louis. The Astros will start Cristian Javier (4-1, 3.25) and he has allowed just 39 hits in 53 innings pitched with 59 strikeouts. Astros are 6-1 in seven inter-league against right-handed starters. Take HOUSTON!

Miami at San Francisco 10:15 ET

Giants over Marlins- A pair of clubs that for the most part are considered also-rans this season have the current MLB longest win streak with the Marlins having won their last three and so have the Giants. Miami will start Cy Young winner Sandy Alacantra (1-4, 4.91 ERA) who is having a tougher time this season and he is 1-2 lifetime against San Fran. Anthony DeSclafani (3-3, 3.06) who make his MLB debut with Miami is 2-2 with a 2.47 ERA in six career starts against his former team. Giants are 9-3 in last 12 versus Marlins in last 12 games as hosts. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

Tampa Bay at New York Mets 7:10 ET

Mets over Rays- New York has struggled against the dregs of baseball going just 4-9 in their last 13 games, all against sub .500 teams. Tampa Bay of course has the best record in MLB and just split a four-game series against the Yankees. The Rays will send left-hander Jalen Beeks (1-2, 5.40 ERA) to the mound who has not pitched more than two innings in any of his 10 appearances. The Mets will start Justin Verlander (1-1, 2.25) who in making his home debut for New York. The Muts as they are being called in New York are 55-27 in their last 82 games following a loss and with this price being as high as it is makes me believe the Mets are good here tonight. Take NEW YORK METS!

Milwaukee at St. Louis 7:45 ET

Cardinals over Brewers- After their worst start since 1940 St. Louis has now won six of seven and I expect that positive momentum to continue today as Jack Flaherty (2-4, 6.18 ERA) takes the hill. Flaherty who is 3-7 with a 4.92 ERA against the Brewers is off to a horrid start to the season. Milwaukee will start Freddy Peralta (4-2, 3.32) who has had three straight quality starts but is just 3-4 with a 5.94 ERA in 13 career appearances. The Brewers are 1-5 in their last six road games wile the Cardinals are 6-1 in their last seven overall. Red Bird have turned it around and continue to win. Take ST. LOUIS!

St. Louis at Boston 7:10 ET

Cardinals over Red Sox- Who said that they were the Dead-Birds? It was not me or was it, oh yeah the Cardinals came to life in the ninth inning Saturday to ruin my free podcast play of the Red Sux. You know what I am thinking...I believe St. Louis has come to life after a horrid start (10-24) but have won five of six this week. In baseball when a team is hot they are hot and it does not matter who is pitching Miles Mikolas (1-1, 5.40 ERA) or who is out. Boston knows about streaks as they just had a seven game win streak but have now lost four of five. The Red Sox will send out Cory Kluber (2-4, 6.29) who has seen better days and should be seed for the Red Birds. and Blo-sux are 0-7 in inter-league play at home. Take ST. LOUIS!  

Houston at Chicago White Sox 7:15 ET

White Sox over Astros- The White Sox have been the biggest disappointment in all of LMB action this season as they are already 14 games under .500 and a minus -1,398 on simple one hundred dollar wagers per game. Chicago will start Dylan Cease (2-2, 5.59 ERA) who has struggled against Houston going 0-3 with a 5.15 ERA. Houston will start Brandon Bielak (0-1, 4.15) who is making just his second start in three seasons. Take WHITE SOX!

San Diego at LA Dodgers 10:10 ET

Padres over Dodgers- These two combatants are expected to battle it out throughout the entire season for supremacy in the NL West. San Diego loaded up with big name players this season looking to challenge LA for the top spot. The Dodgers will send Dustin May (4-1, 2.68 ERA) who defeated the Padres six days ago and is 2-4 with a 3.44 ERA lifetime against San Diego. The Padres will send Blake Snell (1-5, 4.89) to the hill and he is 1-2 with a stellar 2.56 ERA in 10 starts against the Dodgers. Padres are 6-2 in their last eight games after a loss while the Dodgers are 1-6 on Fridays. Take SAN DIEGO!

San Francisco at Arizona 9:40 ET

Giants over Diamondbacks- The Giants who are 4-games under .500 are not expected to become a playoff team as their talent level has slipped more than most realize. Arizona has finally become a threat after spending a decade in the bottom half of the NL. Alex Cobb (2-1, 2.01 ERA) ges the start for the Jints while rookie Tommy Henry (1-0, 5.17) will be making his fourth career start in a previous start he was knocked around by the Giants allowing five runs in 4.2 innings. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

Toronto at Philadelphia 4:10 ET

Phillies over Blue Jays- Philadelphia has won their last two games s following a six game losing streak and will send their best to the mound in Zack Wheeler (3-2, 4.26 ERA). Toronto is use Kevin Gausman (2-3, 3.86) who is off his worst career start allowing eight runs on 10 hits against Boston last Thursday. The Blue Jays are just 2-5 in their last seven road games against a right-handed starter while the Phillies are 6-1 at home against right-handed starters. Take PHILADELPHIA!

Toronto at Philadelphia 6:40 ET

Phillies over Blue Jays- The inconsistent Blue Jays just swept three games from what was a hot Pittsburgh club outscoring the Pirates 22-3. Philadelphia once again is off to a slow start but as Bryce Harper returns so does the Phillies winning ways. Last year the MVP carried the Whiz-kids to the NL pennant and he is doing it again for the struggling club. Aaron Nola (2-2, 4.64 ERA) 0-2 with a 5.48 lifetime ERA against the Blue Jays will start for the home team and Alek Manoah (1-2, 4.71) who was a sensation last season in seven starts this year has 21 walks in just 36 innings.Take PHILADELPHIA!

LA Dodgers at San Diego 7:10 ET

Padres over Dodgers- This is a big game for the Padres and not so much in the standings but in their heads. Los Angeles is 67-31in the last 98 meetings and treats San Diego like a red-headed step-child. but, this season the Padres are drawing a line in the sand and have powered up and look to over take the bullies from 90 miles north. Pitching match-up does not to the Padres today...take SAN DIEGO!

Oakland at Kansas City 2:10 ET

A’s over Royals- There is no way that his Oakland team should ever be favored on the road even against the like of a club as weak as the Royals. These may be the two worst teams in MLB this season and the A’s have a chance to break the Mets 1962 record of 140 losses. But, they have found one bright spot and that is Mason Miller (0-1, 3.91 ERA) who in his only start in Triple-A pitched five perfect innings with 11 strikeouts before being call to the Show and last time out he pitched seven innings of no-hit ball against Seattle before being removed. Take OAKLAND!

L. A. Dodgers at San Diego 8:40 ET

Padres over Dodgers- I love the pitching match-up although it may seem a bit one sided as the Dodgers Dustin May (3-1, 3.15 ERA) has allowed just 20 hits in 34.1 innings while The Padres Blake Snell (1-4, 5.28) has surrendered 33 hits in 28 innings wit an usually high 18 walks. But, San Diego has put the NL on notice and they are starting to hit as a team and are 5-1 at home and 4-0 against the NL West. Dodgers weakness is facing left-hander starters and are 2-6 in their last eight against southpaws. Take SAN DIEGO!

Toronto at Pittsburgh 6:35 ET

Blue jays over Pirates- Is this the beginning of the end for the Pirates who are quickly reverting back to old habits again. Pittsburgh started the season 20-8 and there was a buzz starting to surround their sudden rise, but alas, they have now dropped five straight and are facing a team coming out of their own five-game losing streak. Toronto was lucky enough to be playing Pittsburgh to end their down turn and now send Jose Berrios (2-3, 5.29 ERA) who was racked by the Red Sox last time out giving up 11 hits in five innings. Blue jays are 6-0 in the last six meetings including 5-0 in the Steel City. The Pirates are 23-54 in their last 77 inter-league games. Take TORONTO!

Chicago White Sox at Cincinnati 6:40 ET

White Sox over Reds- Chicago’s Lance Lynn (0-4, 7.16 ERA) has gone 11 seasons and has yet to have a losing season but things look pretty bleak as the White Sox has lost all six of his starts including his last time out when he allowed just three hits in 6.2 innings having entered the seventh with a no-hitter and left the game having surrendered just one run against Tampa Bay. Cincinnati will send Hunter Greene (0-1, 2.89)  and last Saturday matched his season high of 10 strikeouts. The hard throwing right-hander has 40 strike outs in just 28 innings but has given up 29 hits. Sox are 13-4 in their last 17 inter-league road games while the reds are 11-31 in their last 42 games against right handed starters. Take the WHITE SOX!

Atlanta at Miami 4:10- ET

Marlins over Braves- As good as Atlanta looks this season they are having troubles keeping their rotation in tact and will be going with rookie Dylan Dodd (1-1, 7.71 ERA) who has been called back up from Triple-A to make this afternoon start. The Braves are already 5-1 against Miami this season but will face the Marlins best hurler in Jesus Luzardo (2-1, 3.48 ) and they are 5-1 as a team when he starts. Fish are also 5-0 at home in last five starts against left-handers and they are 9-4 at home in their last 13 games overall. Take MIAMI!

Minnesota at Chicago White Sox 7:10 ET

White Sox over Twins- After losing 10 straight game the White Sox have managed their longest win streak of the season by winning their second straight walk-off victory. Minnesota has called up Louie Varland (0-0, 4.50 ERA) from Triple-A who will be making the second start of this year while Chicago will start Dylan Cease (2-1. 4.15) who is off his worst outing of the year. The Twins are 17-37 in their last 54 road games and are 2-6 in their last eight games in Chicago. Take the WHITE SOX!

Arizona at Texas 8:05 ET

Diamondbacks over Rangers- Okay, well Arizona is much better than any recent seasons and so is Texas. The Rangers who are 11-5 at home scored 15 runs against the Yankees Sunday and are now an underdog to the D’Backs. Arizona is starting Zac Gallen (4-1, 2.15 ERA) and have won four of their last six while Gallen has gone four starts without allowing a run covering 28 innings and four wins. Texas will send Jon Gray (1-1, 3.91) to the hill and he has struggled with his control this season and is 5-7 with a 5.60 ERA against Arizona. Snakes are off a 10-4 loss  at Colorado and are 10-3 following a loss. Take ARIZONA!

New York at Texas 2:35 ET

Yankees over Rangers- new York is looking to gain a split of this four-game series after dropping the last two scoring just two runs in the last two and only six for the three games. Yankee bats have gone silent with Judge and Stanton sidelined but, today they will send their most effective starter over the past two seasons and that is Nestor Cortes (3-1, 3.49 ERA) who has allowed three runs or less in 17 consecutive starts. Martin Perez (3-1, 2.60) gets the nod for Texas and the left-hander is just 2-5 with a 5.80 ERA in 11 starts against the Yankees. Bombers are 9-4 after a loss and the Rangers are 3-10 in their last 13 starts against left-handers. Take NEW YORK YANKEES!

New York Yankees at Texas 7:10 ET

Rangers over Yankees- I realize that the Rangers are greatly improved but to see them open this big a favorite against the Yankees is a bit surprising. New York is having problems not only does the club have major flaws (not according to GM Cashman) and now are without Aaron Judge and the over-rated and injury plagued Michael Giancarlo (I can’t play today and I won’t hustle if I do.) Stanton. Former Yankee Nathan Eovaldi (2-2, 5.20 ERA) get a shot at his former team while Jhony Brito (2-2, 6.11) take the hill for New York. Since winning his first two starts Brito has lasted just 7.1 innings in his last three starts surrendering 11 runs and 12 hits with seven walks. Take TEXAS!

Cleveland at Boston 7:10 ET

Watch Dogs over Red Sox- Boston at 13-13 is about where most experts expected them to be in the AL East. With New York and Toronto the powerhouse teams the Red Sox have been passed by Baltimore with their youth movement. Nick Pivetta (1-1,4.58 ERA) leads the Boston staff and his mound opponent with be Shane Bieber (1-1, 3.23) who has gone six inning in four of his five starts. Former Tribe are 4-1 in their last five starts against right handed pitchers while Boston is 1-5 at home against right handed starters. Take CLEVELAND!

Seattle at Philadelphia 6:40 ET

Mariners over Phillies- When I hear managers speak highly of a player that is clearly in over his head (i.e.-Hicks with the Yankees) the Phillies have three such players that are just not cutting it. Both of these clubs are expected to contend but slow starting have them already with a hill to climb. a bit of revenge might apply here as Logan Gilbert (1-1, 3.57 ERA) was tagged with his loss by Philadelphia. Mariners are 7-2 on inter-league road and Philly is 2-7 in last nine starts against lefties. Take SEATTLE!

New York at Minnesota 7:40 ET

Twins over Yankees- I really am between a rock and a hard place when playing this game as I have Nestor Cortes Jr. (3-0, 3.09 ERA) the Yankees left-handed starter as the AL long shot Cy Young award winner. So, I am rooting for him every outing except of course for today. Today, his mound opponent will be stellar Joe Ryan (4-0, 3.24) who is pitching to a 0.76 WHIP and has allowed just 15 hits in 25 innings. Unbelievably the Yankees are 9-21 in their last 30 road games against teams with winning records while the Twins are11-2 in their last 13 home games against left-handed starters. Take MINNESOTA!.

New York Mets at San Francisco 7:10 ET

Giants over Mets- I love when these two clubs play each other as it brings me back to the original meeting between they first played at the Polo Grounds when Willie Mays returned to New York and hit a Home Run over the roof of the left field stands that will be remembered as a classic baseball moment. Now a days it is the Mets with the firepower and the giants that ae fading fast after a number of seasons of championship contending baseball. Look for the Giants to put the Mets away one more time. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

Houston at Atlanta 7:20 ET

Astros over Braves- Kyle Wright (0-0, 6.23 ERA) won 21 games last year and was dominate from start to finish last season but spring problems have carried over into the regular season. Even with this slow start by Wright the Braves still have the best record in the National League but they are only a virtual Pik-em game at home, That just doesn’t sit right...Ha. Framber Valdez (1,2, 1.85) won 17 games last year and is 28-12 the past two seasons and that is 70%. Although a losing record this season Famber’s ERA is under two as five of the ten runs he has surrendered were unearned. Stros 6-1 last seven inter-league games against right-handed starters and Braves are 4-9 in their last 13 home inter-league games against left-handed starters. Take HOUSTON!

New York Mets at San Francisco 4:05 ET

Giants over Mets- I love this match-up as San Francisco stalwart Logan Webb (0-4, 4.91 ERA) throws against the New York Mets who crushed the Giants 7-0 Friday night. New York will start their weak link in David Peterson (1-2, 6.10) who the Mets are waiting to blossom and it is just not going to happen as he has surrendered 26 hits in just 20 innings. Webb puts it together after a horrid start. Take SAN FRANCISCO!

San Diego at Arizona 9:40 ET

Padres over Diamondbacks- So, the long awaited return of Fernando Tatis Jr. was a disappointment in yesterday’s 7-5 win the Padres over San Diego as he went hitless in five at bats. Tonight, Seth Lugo (2-0, 2.70 ERA) is fighting for this starting roll after years of relief pitching with the Mets. San Diego is 3-0 when Lugo gets the start while Arizona will start ace Zac Gallen (2-1, 3.33) who has not allowed a run in his last 13.2 innings of work. The Padres are 5-0 on the road against teams with winning records and are 19-7 in the last 26 meetings including 4-0 at Arizona. Take SAN DIEG

LA Dodgers at Chicago Cubs 7:40 ET

Cubs over Dodgers- Okay here it is...the Dodgers are not the same clubs we have seen in the past decade and will send their weak link to the mound tonight. They will start Michael Grove (0-1, 9.00) who has surrendered 16 hits in just 13 innings. The Cubs are 10-3 after a 1-3 start and have won four in-a-row. Cubs will start James Tallion (0-2, 4.50) who is 0-1 lifetime against the Dodgers but get the win tonight. Take CHICAGO CUBS!

Toronto at Houston 7:30 ET

Blue Jays over Astros- Let us just hope that Toronto doesn’t turn out to be that one team you just can not seem to be able to get by without incurring some sort of damage. Right now with Jose Altuve on the shelf Houston does not appear to be the same club as two other joined him on the bench and a pair of others are day-to-day. The Blue Jays will start Jose Berrios (1-2, 7.98 ERA) who has yet to reach expectations since joining Toronto and is 4-3 with a 4.81 ERA in seven career starts against the Astros. Houston will start Luis Garcia (0-2, 7.71) and he is 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA in three starts against the Jays. Jays are 6-2 last eight on the road and get the money here. Take TORONTO!

Tampa Bay at Cincinnati 6:40 ET

Reds over Rays- Since opening the MLB season with 13 straight wins Tampa Bay has now dropped 3-of-4 and will send rookie Taj Bradley (1-0, 5.40 ERA) who will be making his second career start. In his first start against Boston he allowed three runs in five innings but had eight strikeouts while walking just one. Cincinnati will start Nick Lodolo (2-0, 2.12) who we have had luck with and we will go at it once again. The Reds defeated the Rays 8-1 yesterday and Tampa is 2-7 in their last nine games following a loss and 0-5 in their last five games in Cincinnati. Reds are 9-2 in the last 11 inter-league games. Take CINCINNATI!

Toronto at Houston 8:10 ET

Blue Jays over Astros- Does Altuve mean so much to Houston that they not only do not seem able to play .500 ball but now they an underdog at home. The Astros will send Cristian Javier (1-0, 4.24 ERA) to the hill and he has been no where as dominant this season as he has been in the past with strikeout ratio down 40%. Toronto veteran Kevin Gausman (1-1, 1.35) is in his 11th season and he has never been better going 27-16 the past two seasons. Blue Jays are 5-1 on the road and 14-6 following a loss. Take TORONTO!

Tampa Bay at Toronto 1:30 ET

Blue Jays over Rays- Was it Sir Issac Newton that said what goes up must come down or was it fig newton(sorry about that)but either way Tampa Bay has lost their karma and it might be a while before it returns They will be starting their best Sunday in Shane McClanahan (3-0, 1.59 ERA) and if the most over-rated manager in baseball does his thing he will be out of the game before it even get interesting. After a pair of stellar seasons Alex Manoah (1-0, 4.91) is having trouble finding the plate and has walked 11 in 14.2 innings while his career average was 2.2 entering this season. Rays 3-8 in last 11 road games while the Jays are 8-2 last 10 and 6-1 versus lAL East. Take TORONTO!

Baltimore at Chicago White Sox 7:00 ET

Orioles over White Sox- If you haven’t noticed what is going on in Baltimore it is time to wake up. This clubs has suffered for the past two decades but right now have one the better balanced line-ups tat is producing runs as their average of 5.81 RPG ranking third in MLB. Chicago who is always expected to make a run have been disappointing this year surrendering 6.19 RPG. Mike Clevinger (2-0, 3.48 ERA) starts for the White Sox and he is 4-1 with a 3.69 ERA lifetime against the Orioles. Tyler Wells (0-1, 3.27) who will notch is first win of the season. Take BALTIMORE!

Philadelphia at Cincinnati 6:40 ET

Redlegs over Phillies- Returning home after a 1-5 road trip Cincinnati will turn to 25-year old No. 1 draft pick Nick Lodolo (1-0, 1.50 ERA) who started against the Phillies last Saturday and he was terrific. In seven full inning he had 12 strikeouts, allowing just three hits and no runs in a no decision appearance. Philadelphia like last season is off to a slow start and can only wait for MVP Bryce Harper to get back in the lineup. Bailey Falter (0-1, 2.61) has thrown five innings in both of his starts while surrendering 11 hits and three runs. Philly is 0-5 on the road in their last five against lefties and are 8-21 in their last 29 games in Cincinnati. Take CINCINNATI!

San Diego at New York Mets 1:10 ET

Padres over Mets- Both of these clubs are favored to win their divisions and most likely are expected to meet for the NL Pennant. New York has run into problems delivering hits when needed most as they are hitting .222 with runners in scoring position. San Diego who has a much firepower at the plate are still waiting for the return of Fernando Tatis who once again is sidelined because he has been a bad boy. The Mets will start Tylor Megill (2-0, 1.64 ERA) who has had a pair of quality starts defeating Miami twice and this time he will face a real offense. The Padres will send Blake Snell (0-1, 7.88) to the hill who has been roughed up twice already by both Atlanta and Colorado. Fortunes change today. Take SAN DIEGO!

Milwaukee at Arizona 9:40 ET

Brewers over Diamondbacks- I can not help myself here as once again i am going to play against my personal House Rules...but we all won last time I did it, so it is with confidence and the same applies here. Well, except for my basis toward Milwaukee starter Corbin Burnes (0-1, 9.64 ERA), after having seen him up-close I know how difficult he is to hit against. The Cy Young Award Winner has already walked five in nine+ innings and he is better than that having once started the season with 59 strikeouts before he walked a better. Arizona starter Merrill Kelly (0-1, 3.86) was roughed up by the Dodgers last time out and happens to be up against a determined Burnes. Brewers are 18-8 in the last 26 meetings and D backs are 3-8 following a win. Take MILWAUKEE

Milwaukee at Arizona 9:40 ET

Diamondbacks over Brewers-  Off to a quick 7-2 start Milwaukee takes to the road after a 5-1 home stand and will start left-hander Wade Miley (1-0, 0.00) who shut down the Mets on three hits in six innings and no walks or runs. Arizona will start their ace Zac Gallen (0-1, 7.59 ERA) who is win less in two starts and has been rocked for 13 hits and 10 runs in 10.2 innings against the Padres and Dodgers.The trends are not any different as it is all Brewers and no backs but, things change!

Houston at Minnesota 2:10 ET

Astros over Twins- Okay, let us stop the nonsense and get serious and that will be the attitude of the Astros Sunday after losing their first two road game of the season. Houston will send Hunter Brown to the hill and hr picked up two wins in 20 innings of work in 2022 but is still considered a rookie and is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in just 4.2 innings of work. Minnesota looking for the home sweep with send Tyler Mahle (1-0, 1.80 ERA) to the mound and if things are right and he is as inconsistent as he has ever been the Astros will will hit Moon shots. Take HOUSTON!

St. Louis at Milwaukee 8:10 ET

Cardinals over Brewers- To me and many others that a close to the situation say that when Jordan Montgomery (1-0, 5.40 ERA) was traded to the Cardinals from the Yankees that it GM Brain Cashman gave away their only left-handed pitcher but one that will prove to be a contender for the Cy Young before his career is done. That broke the locker room mojo and New York still hasn’t recovered and their pitching is a mess. The Brewers will counter with Eric Lauer (1-0, 3.83) who picked up a win against the Cubs last Sunday surrendering six hits in 5+ innings. Second time out he will not be so lucky. The Red Birds are 21-8 on the road against lefties. Take ST.LOUIS!

Houston at Minnesota 4:10 ET

Twins over Astros- There is something no so kosher about this game with these tow named starters and with Minnesota being named listed as the favorite over the world series champions. Let me think a minute Sonny Gray the 13-year veteran has never attained the success many believe he should have. Houston will be starting Jose Urquidy who was pounded in his first start surrendering seven hits in four innings in a no decision with two homers hit by the White Sox. This is the Twins are 11-4 in last 15 games as hosts and this is their home opener for 2023 and it will be the Astros first road game of the season. Take MINNESOTA!

Minnesota at Miami 1:10 ET

Marlins over Twins- It is difficult for me to play against any one named Jesus no matter how you pronounce it. It is even more difficult if he is a starting pitcher named Jesus Luzardo who has come into his own as a member of the Marlins. Last season just 69 hits, and in his first start against the Mets (Megabucks Winner) he surrendered just two its in six innings. Minnesota will send former Miami start pitcher Pablo Lopez who opened his season with a win over Kansas City also allowing just two hits in six innings. Home field and being familiar with their opponent a former teammate give the edge to...MIAMI!

Atlanta at St. Louis 7:45 ET 

Cardinals over Braves- Early in the baseball season it takes a bit of time to fully realize the movement of players to different clubs. Steven Matz start for St. Louis and the former New York Mets and Blue Jays lefty was 5-3 last season with a 5,25 ERA as her dealt with shoulder issues. He is 6-3 with a 3.42 ERA lifetime against Atlanta. The Braves will start Dylan Dodd who is making his MLB debut and will have to face a deep hitting Cardinals squad. His first experience at this level will not be pleasant. Take ST. LOUIS!

Arizona at San Diego 9:40 ET

Diamondbacks over Padres- This season it seems more people are on the San Diego bandwagon as they continue to add talent into their lineup. This of course raises the price of backing them especially on a daily basis and they started 2-2 splitting a 4-game home series with Colorado dropped the last two games. The Padres will start Ryan Weathers who is 4-7 lifetime and 0-1 against Arizona. The D’backs will start Ryne Nelson the prized prospect who is 1-1 lifetime but has allowed just nine hits in 18 innings. Despite a poor spring he will be ready tonight. Take ARIZONA!

Toronto at St. Louis 2:30 ET

Blue Jays over Cardinals- The Toronto batters have been getting on base but bringing them around to score has been an issue for the Blue Jays. In their opener they scored 10 runs but left 12 men on base and yesterday they fell 4-1 and once again left 12 men on base while going 0-for-11 with men in scoring position. St. Louis will start Jordan Montgomery who was 6-3 with a 3.11 ERA in 11 starts after coming over to the Cardinals from the Yankees in mid season last year. Chris Bassitt (15-9. 3.48) had 32 starts for the Mets last season and gets his first win for the Jays today. Take TORONTO!

New York Mets at Miami 6:40 ET

Marlins over Mets- New York opened the season as expected even defeating last season’s Cy Young Award winner in Sandy Alcantara 5-3 in their Opener. Mets ace Max Scherzer picked up the win as the they rallied late to win. Miami is team of unknowns once again and once again they have talent nobody has heard of as of yet. Tonight’s starter for the Marlins is Jesus Luzardo who was just 4-07 last season threw to a 3.32 ERA, but get this! In 100.3 innings he surrendered just 69 hits with 120 strikeouts. Do the MATH! Take MIAMI!

Philadelphia at Texas 4:00 ET

Rangers over Phillies- Oh Boy! I get to see if Jacob deGrom has overcome his two-year shoulder issues and has returned to his Cy Young form. Philadelphia like most pennant winners lose at lot during the off-season as as talent leaving for greener pastures and your star Bryce Harper is laid-up. Rangers went through some changes and it looks like they are trying to contend. How far they let deGrom pitch is my main concern. Take TEXAS!

Philadelphia at Houston 8:03 ET

Astros over Phillies- Turn out the lights sweet darling the party’s over as Ole Dandy Don used to say and they fought the good fight but the Phillies really needed to win Game 5. We have all seen how Houston’s pitching can and has dominated the last two games and totally during the regular season with MLB’s lowest team ERA. Houston does not need to hit five homers to win all it needs is for Framber Valdez (2-0, 1.42 ERA post-season) to continue to as he has all season. Philly will throw out Zack Wheeler (1-2, 2.67) and the former Met has been excellent in the post-season but the Phillies bats at .174 for the series fall short. Take HOUSTON!

Houston at Philadelphia 8:00 ET

Astros over Phillies- Okay, we all now know that the Phillies aren’t unbeatable at home during the playoffs. Now, it’s time to find out if Jason Verlander will ever win a World Series game. He has 18 post-season victories but now have come in the WS where he is 0-6 in eight starts with a 6.07 ERA the worst record for anyone with 30 innings pitched and that includes blowing Game 1’s 5-run lead. This time he shuts the door on a team who has doubts after getting white-washed yesterday. Take HOUSTON!

Houston at Philadelphia 8:00 ET

Astros over Phillies- Mattress Matt with his Houston wager where he stands to collect the $72.4 million that will be due him if the Astros win the World Series. The local furniture mogul has invested $11.4 million this season on futures and is down over $16 million entering the season after a decade of wagering huge clumps of cash. So, how does that affect this game I don’t know but I’m looking to bounce back with Matt and the Astros here. I really am an Aaron Nola fan but it look like the Stros have his number as he has surrendered 11 runs in his last two starts covering nine innings. Christian Javier is 1-0, with a 1.35 postseason ERA will short out the Philly power serge. Take HOUSTON!

Houston at Philadelphia 8:00 ET

Astros over Phillies- The Phillies who were the lowest seed to make the MLB Playoffs are 5-0 at home and will be handing the pitching duties to Rangers Suarez (10-7, 3.65 ERA, post-season 1-0, 1.86). Houston will counter will Lance McCullars who last World Series start was Game 7 in 2017 against the Dodgers. Astros saw Altuve break out of his post-season slump and that is bad news for Philadelphia. Fly-boys 7-1 last eight starts vs right-hander and Whiz-Kids 3-8 in their last 11 inter-league games. Take HOUSTON!

Philadelphia at Houston 8:00 ET

Phillies over Astros- Something is going on with this Philadelphia club and karma is a difficult thing to overcome. Zack Wheeler (12-7, 2.82, postseason 1-1 1.78) has been outstanding in the playoffs and can keep the Houston bats from getting hot. Framber Valdez (17-6, 2.82 ERA, Post season 1-0, 1.42) has had a great year but Dusty Baker has put pressure in him and his World Series record is 0-2 with a 19.29 ERA as he was bombed twice in two appearances. Take PHILADELPHIA!

Philadelphia at Houston 8:05 ET

Phillies over Astros- This is so hard to do, playing against the highest seeded team in the MLB playoffs who are at home against the playoffs lowest seed. To compound that, a future Hall of Fame hurler Justin Verlander will get the nod for a Houston. Philadelphia will send their most consistent starter in the playoffs to the hill in Aaron Nola who was in the mound in the Phillies clinching game against the Stroes. Now, here a bit that I found unbelievable...Verlander is 0-6 with a 5.68 ERA in seven career World Series starts and he hasn’t been such a prize this post season either but getting great support with a 6.30 ERA. Nola’s post season record is 2-1, 3.12 ERA and he’s throwing with confidence while Houston is 1-6 in their last seven World Series home games. Take PHILADELPHIA!  

San Diego at Philadelphia 7:35 ET

Padres over Phillies- In what should be a pitchers dual the thing that can mess all that up is the hot bat of Bryce Harper who is ‘on-the-ball’ and is a threat every time up. Joe (No-hit) Musgrove (10-7, 2.93 ERA, 1-0, 1.38 postseason) is tough to hit allow just seven safeties in 13 playoff innings against the Mets and Dodgers. Philly starter Ranger Suarez (10-7, 3.65 ERA, 0-0, 2.70 postseason) can have control issues and that can be the difference. Take SAN DIEGO!

Philadelphia at San Diego 8:05 ET

MLB’s new playoff system has worked like a charm as the two added team the two lowest seeds have advanced to the NL Pennant series. Philadelphia turned their season around after firing Joe Girardi and they had the best record over the span until their final 20 games then winning just seven, still, good enough. The stars are aliened perfectly for both clubs as they get to start their most effective hurlers. The Phillies send Zack Wheeler (12-7, 2.82 ERA, 0-1, 2.18 postseason) to the hill while San Diego will counter with Yu Darvish (16-8, 3.10 ERA, 2-0, 3-0 postseason). Wheeler is 3-1 with a 2.06 ERA in six career starts against the Padres while Yu is 2-1, 2.23 ERA in seven starts against the Phils. Take SAN DIEGO 

New York Yankees at Cleveland 7:35 ET

Yankees over Sockalexis’- New York is looking to avoid falling into a 2-1 deficit in the ALDS for the second straight time. The Yankees lost Game 3 against Tampa Bay two years ago andlost the series in five. Their only ALDS victories when losing two of the first three games were in 2001 against Oakland and 2017 against Cleveland. Triston McKenzie (0-0, 0.00 ERA postseason; 11-11, 2.96 regular season) will start for Cleveland after allowing two hits in six scoreless innings last Saturday in the wild-card clincher against Tampa Bay. McKenzie is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA in two career regular-season starts against the Yankees. McKenzie also faced them as a reliever in Game 2 of the 2020 wild-card series and allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings. New York's Luis Severino (2022 postseason debut; 7-3, 3.18 regular season) will make his 10th career postseason appearance and his first start since Game 3 of the 2019 ALCS at home against Houston, when he allowed two runs in 4 1/3 innings. Severino is 1-1 with a 5.79 ERA in three career ALDS starts. He earned the win against Cleveland in Game of the 2017 ALDS, when he allowed three runs in seven innings of a 7-3 win. Take NEW YORK!

LA Dodgers at San Diego 8:35 ET

Padres over Dodgers- It’s funny how the season plays out and for the Dodgers as the have Tony Gonsolin (16-1, 2.14 ERA) making his first post season start. What is so unusual about Gonsolin starting is that he has pitched just two innings since August 28. San Diego will start veteran Blake Snell who is craving for a chance to atone for recent short comings. The Dodgers have owner the Padres 41-17 the last 48 but s-h-i-t happens in the payoffs. Take SAN DIEGO!

Atlanta at Philadelphia 4:47 ET

Phillies over Braves- After splitting the first two games on the road the Phillies become the favorite (at least in their eyes) and have their hottest pitcher on the mound in Aaron Nola who threw 6.2 scoreless innings against St. Louis last time out. Atlanta will throw either the veteran Charlie Morton (9-6, 4.34 ERA) or rookie Spenser Strider (11-5, 2.67) who’s last appearance was against the Phillies on September 18 (long time ago...some-tings up). Whiz Kids 14-5 last 19 home games. Take PHILADELPHIA!

Cleveland at New York Yankees 7:35 ET

Yankees over Sockalexis’- Left-hander Nestor Cortes (12-4, 2.44 ERA) was the most pleasant surprise for the Yankees this season as he was the most consistent of all their starters. In his last five starts he was 3-0 with a 1.32 ERA and allowed just two hits in his last 13.1 innings pitched. Cleveland will send 2020 Cy Young Award winner Shane Bieber (13-8, 2.88) to the bump and he closed the season with five straight wins but he did miss 16 starts because of a should injury. The Yankees have had the former Tribe’s number going 50-23 in the last 73 meetings in New York and 6-1 in the last even meetings. Take the YANKEES!  

San Diego at L.A. Dodgers

Padres over Dodgers- I just think that this team (the Padres) have waited all year to put it together and they may have done it for the playoffs. We all know how the Dodgers treated San Diego like a 'red-headed step-child' and abuse them all season and not only this year but it seems like forever. L.A. has been laying in-wait but in baseball that is not always a good thing. Take SAN DIEGO!

Philadelphia at St. Louis 8:30 ET 

Phillies over Cardinals- Philadelphia starter Aaron Nola (11-13, 3.25 ERA) has had a difficult time finding winner as early season blown leads kept him under .500 for the year. Nola is 5-3 with a 2.69 ERA in nine career starts against the Cardinals. St. Louis starter Miles Mikolas (12-13, 3.29) won 18 games in 2018 and hasn’t had a winning season since most because of arm woes. Still, Take PHILLIES!

Tampa Bay at Cleveland 12:05 ET

Rays over Sockalexis' (Check it out!) - American League Central champion Guardians (92-70) enter the postseason on quite the roll, winning 24 of their past 30 games to record the second-best 30-games. Cleveland, which won four of the six meetings against Tampa Bay in the regular season, will send right-hander Shane Bieber (13-8, 2.88 ERA) to the mound on Friday. He will be opposed by Tampa Bay left-hander Shane McClanahan (12-8, 2.54). Bieber is 2-2 with a 3.22 ERA in six career appearances (all starts) versus Tampa Bay. McClanahan, 25, struggled in his lone career outing versus Cleveland, surrendering five runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings of a 5-3 setback on July 31. The Rays are 13-5 in the last 18 meetings including 9-4 in the last 13 in Cleveland. Take TAMPA BAY!

N.Y.Mets at Atlanta 7:20 ET

Mets over Braves- Right-hander Jacob deGrom (5-3, 2.93 ERA) is slated to start for the Mets against left-hander Max Fried (13-7, 2.50). The Mets (98-58) are one game ahead of the Braves (97-59). The division winner earns the second first-round bye while the second-place finisher will head to a wild-card series scheduled to start Oct. 7. deGrom had his worst start in more than three years Saturday, when he took the loss after allowing five runs over four innings as the Mets fell to the Oakland Athletics 10-4. It was the first time deGrom allowed more than three earned runs in a start since Sept. 3, 2019 a span of 40 starts, the longest such streak in baseball history. Fried took the hard-luck defeat Sept. 22, when he gave up one run over five innings as the Braves lost to the Philadelphia Phillies, 1-0. deGrom is 10-8 with a 2.08 ERA in 27 career starts against the Braves. Fried is 6-5 with a 2.84 ERA in 20 games (15 starts) against the Mets. Take NEW YORK!

Baltimore at Boston 7:10 ET

Red Sox over Orioles- Baltimore hopes that right-hander Dean Kremer (8-5, 3.07 ERA) settle a staff that has surrendered 38 runs in the last four games. Kremer has faced Boston four times in his career, all starts, going 0-3 with a 7.23 ERA. He has opposed the Red Sox twice this year, posting an 0-1 record with a 4.09 ERA. Left-hander Rich Hill (7-7, 4.65 ERA) gets the nod for the Red Sox. He blanked the Orioles across five innings on Sept. 11 for his only victory across five starts this month. Hill, a member of the 2009 Orioles, is 4-1 with a 2.80 ERA in 18 all-time appearances, including eight starts, against Baltimore. Take BOSTON!

L.A. Dodgers at San Diego 9:40 ET

Padres over Dodgers- The Dodgers (106-47) clinched the No. 1 seed for the NL playoffs with their 106th win on Sunday. The Dodgers are 12-4 against the Padres this season. Los Angeles is 4-2 in San Diego and has outscored its Southern California rival 100-41 in the first 16 games between the teams. The Padres are 8-4 overall since their most recent series loss to the Dodgers. LA will start Tyler Anderson (15-4, 2.52 ERA) on the mound against the Padres' Blake Snell (8-9, 3.62) in a match of left-handers. In 14 career appearances (13 starts) against the Padres, Anderson is 6-3 with a 2.31 ERA. He has been phenomenal against them this year, going 2-0 with 1.50 ERA in three starts. In eight career starts against Los Angeles, Snell is 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA. Take SAN DIEGO!

Baltimore at Boston 7:10 ET

Red Sox over Orioles- The Orioles (79-73) had won three in a row until a pair of tough results to conclude a four-game home series with the Houston Astros. Orioles right-hander Jordan Lyles (11-11, 4.50 ERA) is coming off a career highlight with his first complete game since 2012 last week in a three-hitter against the Detroit Tigers. Lyles is 2-2 with a 6.98 ERA in eight career starts against the Red Sox. Boston right-hander Connor Seabold (0-3, 10.47) has been tagged for 11 runs in 7 2/3 innings over his last two starts. He's still aiming for his first victory in the majors as he prepares to face the Orioles for the first time. He gets it now! Take BOSTON!

Toronto at Tampa Bay 6:10 ET

Rays over Blue Jays- The Rays and Blue Jays each have the same record (84-67) and they have two games remaining between them, as they battle to capture to No. 1 wild-card position. Both clubs hold a 1 1/2-game lead over the team occupying the third AL wild-card spot, the Seattle Mariners (82-68). Alek Manoah (14-7, 2.40 ERA) set to start on Saturday being pushed back a day and he is 3-2 with a 1.69 ERA against the Rays across 37 1/3 innings in six career starts. This year, he is 0-1 with a 2.13 ERA in two outings against Tampa Bay. Rays starter Drew Rasmussen (10-6, 2.92 ERA) will look to regain the outstanding form he had prior to his past two starts. In six career starts and one relief outing against Toronto, Rasmussen is 1-2 with a 2.51 ERA in 32 1/3 innings. This year, he is 0-2 with a 3.10 ERA in four starts vs. the Blue Jays. Cleveland at Texas 8:05 ET

Rangers over Indians- Cleveland (83-67) can move closer toward locking up the division with a successful series against Texas (65-84) as the Guardians are seven games up in the Central with 12 to play. Guardians right-hander Cody Morris (0-2, 2.30 ERA) and Rangers right-hander Jon Gray (7-7, 3.80) are the scheduled starters for the Friday series opener. Morris, is making his fifth big league start. It will be his first appearance against the Rangers while Gray is 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA in September. Take TEXAS!

St. Louis at San Diego 9:40 ET

Padres over Cardinals- Both of these clubs are fighting for playoff position and will be sending veteran pitchers to the mound. St. Louis will send Miles Mikolas (11-12, 3.46 ERA) out to start and his counterpart for San Diego will be lefty Blake Snell (7-9, 3.85). The Padres are on a 4-game winning streak having outscored the D'backs and Cardinals by a 25-4 margin. Snell who is the last SD starter to surrendered a run and has a 2.77 ERA in 13 innings against the Cards. Padres are 6-0 in the last six meetings in San Diego. Take the PADRES!

N.Y. Mets at Milwaukee 7:40 ET

Brewers over Mets- Granted 'we' had the Brew Crew yesterday in the Mets post season clinching victory but that was yesterday. Today, after a night of celebrating for making the playoffs for the first time since 2016 New York's intensity may be down a notch and Milwaukee is getting desperate as they are 46-50 since June 1. The Monday loss makes it harder for the Brewers (78-69) to join the Mets in the playoffs. Milwaukee is now 2 1/2 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the race for the third and final NL wild-card spot. Brewers left-hander Aaron Ashby (2-10, 4.58 ERA) will get the start against Mets right-hander Carlos Carrasco (15-6, 3.70 ERA). Mets are just 5-16 in the last 21 meetings in Milwaukee. Take BREWERS!

N.Y. Mets at Milwaukee 7:40 ET

Brewers over Mets- The New York Mets are expected to start Max Scherzer off the injured list and Milwaukee will start another Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes. Burnes (10-7, 2.97) is 2-2 with a 4.60 ERA over his last seven starts and is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in four career games against the Mets, including three starts. Scherzer is 3-2 with a 2.56 ERA in his last seven major league starts and Scherzer is 2-3 with a 2.37 ERA in 10 career appearances against Milwaukee, including nine starts. Brewers are 13-5 in the last 18 meetings and are 19-7 in the last 26 meetings in Milwaukee. Take BREWERS!

Seattle at L.A. Angels 4:10 ET

Angels over Mariners- L.A. got the pitching performance they needed from Shohei Ohtani who went seven innings allowing no runs and striking out eight in Saturday's 2-1 victory. Today, I'm expecting more of the same from Reid (No-Hit) Detmers (5-5, 3.82 ERA) who is making his second season memorable. He has allowed only 94 hits in 113 innings and defeated Seattle 7-1 on August 6 going seven innings giving up one run to post the win. The Mariners will send Marco Gonzalez (10-13, 3.89) to the hill and he has been hittable allowing more hits than innings pitched. The Angles of won 4-of-5 at home against left-handed starters. Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:10 ET

Phillies over Braves- Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola (9-11, 3.31 ERA) has thrown better this year than his record is showing as the 'Whiz Kids' just fell apart around him and in two career starts against Philadelphia, Odorizzi is 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA. Atlanta staged a comeback win Friday and will start Jake Ordorizzi Jake Odorizzi (5-5, 4.15 ERA) who is on the down side of a 12 year career. The Braves have had their way against the Phillies at home winning 10 of the last 13 meetings. I looking for a reversal of what has already taken place and for the Phils to prevail as Nola has had success against Atlanta through the years. He is 14-9 with a 3.43 ERA in 28 career starts versus the Braves.Take PHILADELPHIA!

Milwaukee at St. Louis 7:45 ET

Brewers over Cardinals- The Cardinals (83-59) host the Milwaukee Brewers (76-66) the National League Central-leader will start Adam Wainwright who is 10-9 with a 3.33 ERA this season. Wainwright is 0-2 with a 4.70 ERA in four starts against the Brewers this season. He is 20-14 in his career against them, with a 2.76 ERA in 54 career appearances, including 46 starts. The Brewers will counter Wainwright on Wednesday with staff ace Corbin Burnes (10-6. 2.93), a right-hander who is coming off a dominant 2-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. He allowed just the one run, three hits, struck out 14 and issued no walks in eight innings. Burnes is 2-0 with an 0.43 ERA in three starts against the Cardinals this season. He is 4-3 with a 2.73 ERA in 14 career appearances against them, including 11 starts. Take MILWAUKEE!

San Diego at Seattle 9:40 ET

Padres over Mariners- Last night Seattle had a 4-run lead going to the ninth and the World Champion Braves scored five runs to take a 7-6 lead before the faithful bottom half of the inning. The Mariners rallied to win 8-7 and the victory moved them into a virtual tie with Tampa Bay for the top spot in the American League's wild-card chase. The Padres (77-64) have lost two in a row, including an 11-2 loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday at Petco Park. Right-hander Yu Darvish (13-7, 3.31 ERA) is scheduled to start and he's won his past three starts after losing his previous three. Darvish is 6-4 with a 4.19 ERA in 13 career starts against Seattle. The Mariners plan to counter with right-hander Logan Gilbert (12-5, 3.23), who hasn't allowed a run over 12 innings in winning his previous two starts. It won't matter tonight! Take SAN DIEGO!

Atlanta at Seattle 9:40 ET

Braves over Mariners- Left-hander Robbie Ray (12-8, 3.45 ERA) is scheduled to start the series opener for Seattle. Ray, who won the AL Cy Young Award last season with Toronto before signing with the Mariners as a free agent in the offseason, has won his past four starts while yielding a 1.05 ERA. The Braves plan to counter with veteran right-hander Charlie Morton (7-5, 4.01), who is coming off an 8-1 victory last Friday against Miami in which he allowed one run on four hits in 5 2/ 3 innings. Morton is 5-3 with a 4.30 ERA in 10 starts against Seattle. The Braves are a half-game behind the New York Mets in the NL East but have a double-digit lead atop the league's wild-card standings. The Braves are 6-1 on the inter-league road and Seattle is 4-9 in inter-league games against teams with winning records. Take ATLANTA!

Miami at Philadelphia

Phillies over Marlins- Philadelphia will start Kyle Gibson (9-6, 4.48 ERA) and his latest start he was racked for five hits and seven runs in 1.2 innings against the Giants on Friday. He is 1-3 with a 4.80 ERA in five career starts against Miami. The Marlins have lost nine in-a-row and will be sending Sandy Alcantara (12-7, 2.36) to the hill and he also had a poor outing in his last appearance as he gave up seven hits and six runs in five innings. He is 6-6 with a 3.10 ERA in 14 starts against the Phillies. Take PHILADELPHIA!

Cleveland at Kansas City 8:10 ET

Guardians over Royals- The Guardians will send Cody Morris (0-1, 9.00 ERA) to the mound. Zack Greinke (4-8, 4.14 ERA) will make his return from the injured list for the Royals. Greinke's been on the IL since Aug. 24 with right forearm tightness and Royals' manager Mike Matheny says he's ready to go, but he wasn't all that ready at anytime this season as he's pitched at least six innings just five times. Morris will be making his second major league start after allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits in two innings against the Seattle Mariners in his debut on Friday. Take CLEVELAND!

Toronto at Baltimore 7:10 ET

Blue Jays over Orioles- The Blue Jays have five straight games overall and their last eight rod games and will be sending right-hander Mitch White (1-5, 4.67 ERA) to the mound. He hasn't won a game since May 17, losing his last five decisions. He has been roughed up for a total of 13 runs across his last two starts spanning 9 2/3 innings. The Orioles should have the ideal pitcher slated to start with right-hander Kyle Bradish (3-5, 5.17), who hasn't allowed a run across his last two starts covering 15 innings. He gave up a total of four hits in those two games. Like Jeremy Irons look fo a reversal of fortunes today. Take TORONTO!

Chicago White Sox at Seattle 6:40 ET

White Sox over Mariners- The Mariners sent Monday's starter, left-hander Marco Gonzales (10-12, 3.99 ERA) to the hill and the White Sox are still without manager Tony La Russa because of health issues. Chicago right-hander Lance Lynn (4-5, 4.70) is scheduled to start and he allowed one run on four hits in seven innings and struck out eight in a 4-2 victory against Kansas City on Wednesday in his most recent outing. Lynn is 3-1 with a 2.31 ERA in six career starts against Seattle. Take the WHITE SOX!

Minnesota at Chicago White Sox 2:10 ET

Twins over White Sox- Lucas Giolito (10-8, 5.27 ERA) won four of six starts in August despite pitching to a 5.68 ERA during the month will aim to pitch the White Sox to a sweep of their American League Central rival. Minnesota will give the ball to righty Dylan Bundy (7-6, 4.53) who is coming off a no-decision against Boston on Monday, when he scattered two runs and nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. He is 2-0 with a 2.35 ERA in three starts against the White Sox this season and 6-0 with a 3.47 ERA in nine games (eight starts) versus Chicago in his career. Giolito in 17 career starts versus Minnesota, he is 7-7 with a 4.33 ERA. Take MINNESOTA!

Houston at L.A. Angels 9:07 ET

Angels over Astros- In 22 starts as a pitcher, Ohtani is 11-8 with a 2.67 ERA and has 176 strikeouts in 128 innings and In eight career starts against the Astros, he is 2-3 with a 4.21 ERA. This season, Ohtani is 2-1 with a 1.08 ERA against Houston. He will face right-hander Luis Garcia (11-8, 4.14 ERA). Garcia is 2-2 with a 3.61 ERA in nine career outings (seven starts) against the Angels. He is 1-0 with a 3.09 ERA, in two starts against them this season. The one thing that drew my attention to this games is that Houston is 28-games above .500 and the Angels are28-games below the breakeven mark and yet L.A. is favored and they have won five of their last six. Take the ANGELS!

N.Y. Yankees at Tampa Bay 7:10 ET

Rays over Yankees- The Yankees began last month with a 14 1/2-game lead over the third-place Rays. Now the lead is down to six games and second-place Tampa Bay has 33 games remaining while the Yankees have 31. New York held a 15 1/2-game lead following its 12-5 win in Boston on July 8, but since then it is 18-29. The Yankees completed a 10-18 August by producing underwhelming results with a 3-4 record against the Oakland A's and Los Angeles Angels. Domingo German (2-2, 3.19 ERA) will open the series for the Yankees. After allowing two runs, one earned, in 6 1/3 innings on Aug. 22 against the Mets, German gave up three hits in 7 2/3 innings on Saturday in Oakland and he is 3-1 with a 6.32 ERA in nine career appearances (seven starts) against the Rays. The Rays Jeffrey Springs (6-4, 2.76 ERA) went 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA in five August starts and is 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA in 10 career outings against the Yankees. His only two starts vs. New York came this year, and he went 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA. Take TAMPA BAY!

Boston and Minnesota 7:40 ET

Red Sox over Twins- Minnesota is 1.5 games behind the first-place Cleveland Guardians in the American League Central while Boston is 3-9 since leveling its record at 59-59 on Aug. 17. Minnesota's pitching staff sports a 2.35 ERA during the winning streak, and Joe Ryan (10-6, 3.65 ERA) will attempt to continue the run. Boston's Michael Wacha, who is 6-0 with a 2.61 ERA in his past eight starts, will take the ball for Boston. Wacha (9-1, 2.53 ERA) is 2-1 with a 4.43 ERA in four career starts against the Twins. Take BOSTON!

San Diego at San Francisco 9:45 ET

Giants over Padres-San Francisco has lost five straight games and Giants starter righty Logan Webb (11-7, 3.33) has lost his last two starts, He has pitched a pair of 2-1 games against the Padres this season, with each team winning one. He held San Diego to one run and four hits over eight innings in an April win, then one run and six hits in eight innings in a July loss. For his career, Webb has gone 2-1 with a 3.14 ERA against the Padres in eight games (seven starts). Scheduled starter for the Padres, Blake Snell (5-7, 4.24 ERA) also has had issues of late and he's gone 2-1 with a 3.08 ERA in five career starts against the Giants. SD is 1-5 in their last six games against right-handed starters. Take the GIANTS!

Tampa Bay at Boston 1:35 ET

Red Sox over Rays- Boston's consistent Nick Pivetta (9-9, 4.24 ERA) will take the mound on Sunday. The right-hander is 1-3 with a 4.67 career ERA against the Rays. Tampa's Corey Kluber (8-7, 4.20 ERA) faces Boston for the fourth time this season. Kluber is 5-5 with a 4.16 ERA in 14 lifetime outings (13 starts) against a team that he hadn't faced since 2018 prior to this season. The Rays are 2-7 in their last seven meetings in Boston and they are 1-4 on the road against right handed starters. Take BOSTON!

Atlanta at St. Louis 7:15 ET

Braves over Cardinals- Starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery (7-3, 3.08 ERA) is 4-0 with a 0.35 ERA in his first four starts since arriving from the New York Yankees. Montgomery is 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA in two career starts against the Braves. The Braves will counter Montgomery with Charlie Morton (6-5. 3.99 ERA), who also has been outstanding this month. The Braves are 22=6 on Saturdays and 8-1 in the last nine meetings. Take ATLANTA!

Cleveland at Seattle 10:10 ET

Mariners over Guardians- Friday's game will feature right-handers Shane Bieber (8-7, 3.10 ERA) of Cleveland against the Mariners' Logan Gilbert (10-5, 3.52). Bieber had won four consecutive starts until suffering a 2-0 defeat to the visiting Chicago White Sox on Saturday, when he allowed one earned run on five hits in 6 1/3 innings. Over his past five starts, the 2020 AL Cy Young Award winner has a 1.62 ERA. Bieber is 1-2 with a 3.75 ERA in four career starts against Seattle. Gilbert will seek his first victory since July 5 at San Diego. He's 0-2 with a 5.61 ERA over his past eight starts, though half of those have come against the division-leading New York Yankees and Houston Astros. Gilbert is 1-1 with a 4.22 ERA in two starts against Cleveland. Take SEATTLE!
