In any postseason sport involving a series, leaving the door open usually comes back to bite a team. That is the case for the New York Mets who unraveled in the eighth inning yesterday. Now the Brewers have Tobias Myers on the mound who is fresh. Over his last two regular season starts he threw just 49 and 56 pitches. Take the Brewers to close out the Mets and advance to the NLDS.

Sometimes the most dangerous postseason teams at least for a round are the teams that stumbled down the stretch. Over their final thirteen games Kansas City went just 4-9 overall. Yet, they have new life now and in Cole Ragans lone trip to Baltimore this season he gave up just one hit through six and a third innings. Additionally, Baltimore has not won a postseason game since 2014. Take the Royals as the underdog in game one.

The Texas Rangers had a woeful season that has them missing out on the playoffs. On the road to end their year I still expect a prideful finish. Nathan Eovaldi is going to want to finish out the season on a positive note after faltering his last start against the Oakland As. Additionally, Angels starter Jack Kochanowicz has consecutive strong outings but they were against the Chicago White Sox. Take the Rangers as the steep road favorites.

At stake in the regular season finale between the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays is reaching .500. Both have a current record of 80-81, and it’s the Rays who have took the first two games over the Red Sox. Just two weeks ago Rays starter Ryan Pepiot had a season high twelve strikeouts against the Red Sox, but the Ray still lost. More runs today but tail the Red Sox to avoid the sweep.

Tristan Beck will get the start today for Blake Snell and the San Francisco Giants. As a team look for the Giants to respond off of yesterday’s series opening loss to St. Louis. They had opportunities to extend a 3-2 lead with runners on and no outs but generated nothing. St. Louis remains undefeated on the season against San Francisco. Take the Giants to play with some pride and get their first win of the season against St. Louis.

Just two starts ago Nick Pivetta faced the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa. The outing was going well until the fifth inning where Pivetta got into trouble and ended up getting pulled. Overall, Pivetta matched a season high with three home runs allowed. Take Tampa here as the slight road underdog.

Two pitchers that have been excellent are on the mound tonight. Zack Littel has not allowed a run over his last three starts, and Keider Montero has a fourteen innings scoreless streak going at home. Yet, in his last outing he gave up a season high four home runs. Look for the Rays to cool off a hot Tigers team tonight. Grab Tampa on the money line. 

Tuesday, the San Diego Padres begin their final regular season series against the LA Dodgers. This has been a lopsided series in the states this year, where San Diego has won all three series with a 6-2 record. Michael King will look to cool off the Dodgers who are averaging 9 runs over their last eight games, but saw the Marlins and Rockies staffs the past two series. Look for the Padres to carry over momentum after winning eight of their last nine games.

Sunday, the San Francisco Giants once again find themselves at a discount with Blake Snell on the mound. The price may be proper with the game being more meaningful to the Royals and their wild card chances, but Kansas City is on a six game losing streak. San Francisco continues to play spoiler and sweeps the Royals on the road. Grab the Giants as the slight road favorites.

The New York Mets set a franchise record yesterday with three straight games of double digit runs. I expect that to finally cool off as we get Christopher Sanchez on the mound for the Phillies, and David Peterson for the Mets. This was the pitching matchup this past Sunday that produced three combined runs, the lowest output through eleven games in the series this season. Take the under here.

The Arizona Diamondbacks travel to face the Milwaukee Brewers after facing them at home last week. It was an eventful series that saw the Diamondbacks win the finale in extra innings, and also have high success against the Brewers bullpen. Today, look for Dbacks starter Brandon Pfaadt to respond off an abnormal outing against the Brewers in which he gave up eight runs in 1.2 innings.

Thursday, the Philadelphia Phillies travel to face divisional rival in the New York Mets. In last week’s three-game home series the Phillies took two of three, and now will turn to Taijuan Walker. Walker pitched three innings without allowing a run on Saturday versus the Mets, and is under valued in the market in his first start since August 28th. Take the Phillies.

The Tampa Bay Rays had a strong comeback in yesterday’s win over the Boston Red Sox. Down 2-0, they chased Nick Pivetta out and tacked on three additional runs for a 5-2 lead. Look for that momentum to carry over as the bullpen protects Ryan Pepiot even if they are extended. Take the Rays at home on a favorable price. 

The Baltimore Orioles have now dropped seven of their last nine games. They’ll look for a big response today after losing 10-0 in Tuesday’s opener to the San Francisco Giants. Expect the bats to break out against Giants rookie pitcher Hayden Birdsong. Birdsong has not pitched beyond five innings since July 21st, and the Giants have lost seven straight starts by Birdsong. Take Baltimore.

The Arizona Diamondbacks turn to lefty Eduardo Rodriguez today. He had a terrific outing his last appearance against the Milwaukee Brewers, spoiled by a two run shot by Rhys Hoskins. That ended up being the difference in a 2-1 Diamondbacks loss. Today look for the Dbacks to bounce back after a rough performance in Tuesday’s 8-2 loss to the Rockies. Take Arizona. 

The San Francisco Giants travel across the country for a road series against the Baltimore Orioles. Although they are on a four-game losing streak they have consistently been a money making team when Blake Snell is pitching. With Snell starting they have won eight out of his last nine starts. Take the Giants as the Orioles have lost six of eight, where they are averaging 2.25 runs.

We’ve seen the money line dip slightly today on the Philadelphia Phillies. Milwaukee is a strong team at home but are returning from a two series West Coast road trip. Over their last two games against the Diamondbacks the bullpen has conceded fourteen runs. Not the recipe you want facing a Phillies team that is the first to ninety wins and has won five of six. Additionally, the Brewers have been a subpar team this season statistically against lefties. Take the Phillies.

Today’s total offering between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox is high considering Gerrit Cole has only been charged five runs in his last six outings. Yet, there is a different element when the Yankees face the Red Sox. On July 6th Cole gave up four runs and lasted just 4 1/3 innings. Look for enough runs on both sides here for the total to sneak over the full game offering.

It’s tough to go against the Arizona Diamondbacks right now. They are finally healthy with both Ketel Marte and Christian Walker back in the lineup, and had Thursday off unlike the Brewers. Yet, Eduardo Rodriguez has been extremely predictable over his last three starts the Mets, Dodgers, and Astros have hit him hard. Take the Brewers to be the latest to get to Rodriguez. Back the Brewers.

Thursday I’ll lay the price with the home team in the Cleveland Guardians. On the mound for the Tampa Bay Rays is Ryan Pepiot who has solid numbers on the season with a 3.66 ERA. Yet, he tends to get into trouble in the fourth and fifth inning. The Guardians still have the most home wins on the season in the American League, take the Guardians on the money line.

A rookie pitcher that gets his chance to shine in September can be tricky to evaluate. For the Cincinnati Reds, Rhett Lowder is coming off a gem performance against the Houston Astros, where he went 6 1/3 and did not allow a run. In fact, through ten innings of work he has allowed just one run. Yet on the other side, Andre Pallante has two of his six wins on the season against the Reds. Take the Cardinals here in a close game.

New York Mets left handed pitcher David Peterson has been lights out post All Star break. In nine of ten starts he has allowed two runs or fewer. That’s led to the Mets winning his last six outings, and ten out of his last twelve. At this stage of the season Blue Jays starter Chris Bassitt is a pitcher that you know is going to have runners on frequently, but he has the ability to reduce damage. In his last outing the Phillies had ten hits but just three runs. Grab the under.

The Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees meet for their series finale Sunday. I’m on the under as Gerrit Cole’s stats show the Cole of old, but his last start to me he looked like himself. He put on a clinic against the Texas Rangers, and the Cubs are such a streaky team at the plate. I’ll root for the cold side today from the Cubs bats, and Jameson Taillon to produce his normal damage but not enough to topple the total.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have lost consecutive games, and are just 4-7 over their last eleven. I’m not expecting a shutout loss like Friday for the Dbacks, but there are high concerns with Eduardo Rodriguez. The Mets got to him for five runs two starts ago, and his last start he went just four innings against the Dodgers. Grab Houston to get to the Diamondbacks pen early, and get another win over Arizona.

Friday, Zack Wheeler and the Philadelphia Phillies travel on the road to face the Miami Marlins. In five of Wheeler’s last six starts the under has cashed on Philadelphia games. On the other side for the Marlins the under has cashed in three straight outings with starter Edward Cabrera. Take the under in this spot.

For the second time in a span of thirteen days the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Brewers in extra innings with yesterday’s, 7-4 victory. Wednesday, St. Louis may need a big night at the plate once again as Sonny Gray has struggled on the road with a 5.62 ERA. Expect runs on the Cardinals side as Colin Rea has conceded four home runs or more in his last two outings. Back the Cardinals in the series finale.

Toronto and the Philadelphia Phillies will meet for an interleague series. The Blue Jays as a whole have ranked fourth in MLB over the last thirty days in team ERA, at 3.18. Starter Chris Bassitt is coming off his best start in four outings, and had nine strikeouts against the Red Sox. Additionally, he has allowed five hits or fewer in three straight starts. Tail the under here which is 4-1 over the Bluejays last five games.

The New York Yankees travel on the road to Texas for Labor Day, after conceding twenty runs to the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend. Expect runs to continue to be the theme with Gerrit Cole on the mound today for the Yankees. He gave up two runs his last start to the Nationals, and in his August 10th start against the Rangers the bullpen gave up eight runs. Take the over in this spot.

Luis Severino gets a home start today against the Boston Red Sox, after four of his last five starts on the road. That’s a big angle today to help Severino adjust to being so poor on the season against American League opponents. Look for Severino to work out of some jams, or for the bats to pick him up at the plate. Take the Mets. 

The Cleveland Guardians are coming off a rare home shutout loss in yesterday’s game against the Pirates. For the entire game the team had just two total hits. We have seen the low end of hitting issues for this Guardians team recently, as they are just 4-7 over their last eleven games. Take the under as Mitch Keller and Alex Cobb deliver solid outings before turning it over to the bullpen.

Even with two potent teams today in the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, I’ll attack the under. Prior to this series beginning the Phillies had scored three runs or less in the prior five matchups against Atlanta. Additionally, this series went 3-0 to the under just over a week ago. Play the under with two aces on the mound in Max Fried and Zack Wheeler. 

The LA Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks may be the most important series so far in the month of August. Thanks to the Diamondbacks winning ways post All Star break they are just four games back of the Dodgers. Look for tonight to be a trouble spot for Zac Gallen who has had issues in his last three matchups against the Dodgers. Both regular season matchups last season he conceded five runs or more, and on July 4th he lasted just four innings on 85 pitches. Take the Dodgers.

Tuesday, Arizona had their six game winning streak snapped by the New York Mets. It was a tough spot coming off a road trip with having Monday off. Expect the Diamondbacks to regroup on Tuesday with Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound. Arizona is 3-0 in his starts where opponents have scored three runs or less in all. Take the Diamondbacks.

Wednesday, in an AL East matchup I’ll attack the under on the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. Chris Bassit has been susceptible to big innings recently, including giving up four runs to the Angels in one inning in his last start. Yet, he has been able to recover and has pitched well against Boston this season. In two June starts he allowed just two runs in both and pitched deep into the games. Take the under on a high total with room to spare.

The Arizona Diamondbacks enter today’s series against the New York Mets riding a six game winning streak, and wins in twelve out of their last fifteen games. Returning home can be a disruption, as the Diamondbacks ended a nine game road trip. It’s also just the fourth start of the season for Eduardo Rodriguez. Take the Mets as they get to Rodriguez and the Diamondbacks pitching staff.

The Philadelphia Phillies are coming off an impressive weekend with back to back games of eleven runs. Look for success Monday as they will face Ronel Blanco who is coming off his shortest outing since May. He also struggles with walks ranking seventh worst in MLB. Additionally, a nice trend exists in Zack Wheelers’ last five home starts where the over is 5-0. Play the over.

The New York Mets have had success against the San Diego Padres this season. In the current series they had lopsided victories in both Thursday and Saturday’s wins. Go back to June they swept the Padres at home. Jose Quintana limited the Padres to two hits and one run. Play the Mets.

Sunday, I’ll attack the under on the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates. Luis Ortiz is coming off matching a season high seven strikeouts in his last start against the Texas Rangers. The other instance occurred against the Reds on June 26th, where he limited them to one run. Look for Nick Martinez to bounce back from consecutive sub par outings. Take the under in this spot.

The Philadelphia Phillies get Ranger Suarez back on the mound after a month on the injured list. Suarez should immediately help the Phillies who have lost consecutive games, and four of their last five. On the other side Brady Singer is eleventh in MlB in ERA, but has been vulnerable in three of his last four starts. Take the Phillies to break out enough at the plate to get the win Saturday.

A team can be ignited with a sudden change. For Seattle they showed that immediately in yesterday’s first game with former manager Scott Servais fired. They came back from a 5-1 deficit to beat the Giants in extra innings. As great as Blake Snell has been he has been provided just one run over his last two starts. Take Seattle to start building some momentum with another victory.

We are starting to see the money rise on the Minnesota Twins for today’s matchup against St. Louis. The Cardinals come in off of two consecutive wins, but both were controversial against the Brewers. Prior to those victories the Cardinals had dropped seven of eight games. Look for the tough road element against the Twins to be to much of a challenge for the Cardinal. Back the Twins.

We are finally starting to see a shift in daily odds on the Texas Rangers. The defending World Series champions, are ten games below .500 and far off where expectations had them. Today though is a value spot against a Guardians team that is coming off consecutive poor performances against the Yankees. They managed just one hit in yesterday’s loss. Take the Rangers to hand the Guardians their third straight loss. 

Friday, the Toronto Blue Jays and LA Angels will play their fifth game this month. Three of the first four matchups have went under the total. Look for that trend to end today as Chris Bassitt continues to be susceptible in the home run department. In fact, in his last home start he gave up six runs in the first inning to the Oakland As. Take the over in this spot.

It’s extremely rare to see the Baltimore Orioles not the favorite at home. After all they have the second most wins in MLB with 74 wins. Currently though, they are facing an Astros team that is playing above their season record. They have won seven of their last ten games including yesterday’s series opener shutout victory over the Orioles. Take the Astros in game two of the series.

In an early Thursday game I’ll attack the total and go under on the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians. The Guardians are coming off a woeful display Wednesday where their only run production was a solo shot from Jhonkensy Noel. Additionally, Gerrit Cole now ten starts in on the season has shaken off the dust from his early woes, with three straight effective outings. Take the under on the full game of eight runs.

St. Louis has dropped three games below .500 with a 61-64 record. Wednesday they will see a Brewers team that has been red hot with six straight wins. We did see the Cardinals fight late yesterday to lose by just one run. Look for the Cardinals to get to Tobias Myers who has had issues extending beyond five innings, and just gave up eight hits his last start. Take St. Louis

I’ll sell against the Toronto Bluejays and their explosion in yesterday’s 10-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. In the victory the Bluejays hit a season high five home runs. In both games in the series their lineup has been able to minimize the innings from the Reds starter. Look for that to change as Nick Martinez has shined on the road with a 1.71 ERA, and has not allowed a run in the month of August on the road. Take Cincinnati.

After a home sweep against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Tampa Bay Rays were flat in a shutout loss Monday to the Oakland As. Look for their struggles to continue on Tuesday against Oakland As pitcher Joey Estes. In fact, the last time the Rays were shutout was July 5th, that led to a three game sweep by the Texas Rangers. Take the As.

The New York Mets took game one Monday over the Baltimore Orioles with a walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth. Tuesday, another left handed pitcher will be on the mound for the Mets with Jose Quintana. Although Quintana has not been in great form recently, look for the Mets to back him up at the plate. Dean Kremer has taken the loss in his last three road starts. Back the Mets.

The New York Mets have had a major dip in productivity at the plate. In the month of August they rank 21st in home runs, and 16 in runs. That should play into the hands of former Miami Marlin Trevor Rogers. Additionally, David Peterson has been excellent allowing two runs or less in three straight starts. Take the under on 9 runs

The Minnesota Twins are on the verge of a four-game series sweep over the Texas Rangers. Look for Texas to prevent that from happening as Minnesota has been fortunate in all three wins. They won the first two games by one run, and yesterday had a late rally in the eighth inning. Texas does their job at the plate today against Twins starter Pablo Lopez.

Saturday, the Arizona Diamondbacks had one of their worst games post All Star break losing 6-1. Expect their ability to turn the page to show on Sunday, as Merrill Kelly makes his second consecutive start after a stint on the IL. Look for Kelly to hinder a Rays lineup that has had abnormal performances in this series. Take Arizona.

Sunday, the Boston Red Sox have a chance to get a third win a row over the Baltimore Orioles. Although Kutter Crawford has not been in good form, the Red Sox potent bats have been able to make up for it. They’ve won two out of the last three games with Crawford on the mound. On the other side Albert Suarez has been flawless his last two starts and the Orioles have still lost. That’s devalued the Orioles here. Back them as they finally give Suarez some run support.

In yesterday’s series opener we saw the Toronto Blue Jays nearly pull off a big comeback, but fell short 6-5 in extra innings. Saturday look for runs to be at a premium with Justin Steele on the mound for the Chicago Cubs. Steele has had effective outings three out of his last four starts. Also expect Chris Bassitt to recover from a rough first inning his last outing against the Oakland As in which he gave up six runs. Take the under.

Milwaukee is coming off winning the last two games in their series against the LA Dodgers, and also swept the Braves in lopsided fashion two series prior. That has over valued a Brewers team that will face a tough matchup against Guardians starter Gavin Williams. Williams in four road starts has given up just two total runs. Take the Guardians to get their 73rd win on the season.

The pressure is on Pirates star rookie pitcher Paul Skenes today. He is coming off giving up four runs to the LA Dodgers, and the Pirates have lost four of his last five starts. As poor as the Mariners have been in the run scoring department, their runs today are likely to be minimal. Still look for veteran ace Logan Gilbert to get the best of Skenes. Take Seattle

The LA Dodgers will aim for the sweep Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers. It marks the return of Walker Buehler who gets the start for the first time since June. While his innings are expected to be reduced, look for the Dodgers lineup to pick him up. Frankie Montas has been bailed out his first two outings with extreme run support. His hits are up, and look for Shohei Ohtani to continue his excellence against him. He is 11 for 27 with five homers in his career. Take the Dodgers. 

After a woeful weekend the Toronto Blue Jays cashed to begin their road series against the LA Angels. Yet, all four runs were scored in one inning, for a Bluejays team that has struggled recently at the plate. I’ll sell on starting pitcher Kevin Gausman who has seen the Bluejays win each of his last five starts. Play the Angels as the Bluejays continue trending downward. 

The Minnesota Twins will be starting a rookie pitcher in Zebby Matthews. Matthews will get the daunting task of facing the Kansas City Royals and their potent lineup. This is an important series as the Twins look to stay ahead of the Royals in the standings, and to close the distance on the Cleveland Guardians. Look for a tight game with the Twins continuing to cash at home late against the Royals bullpen. Take Minnesota.

The Seattle Mariners now have the spotlight off of their Sunday night prime time win over the New York Mets. With Julio Rodriguez back in the lineup the team seems to be poised to build on their four game win streak. Yet, George Kirby did not fare well against the Tigers last Wednesday. After seven games without giving up a home run, he gave up two to the Tigers. Take Detroit here once again.

Monday, the Atlanta Braves will turn to NL Cy Young candidate Chris Sale to stop the recent woes of Atlanta’s pitching. Over their last five games opponents are averaging 9.4 runs. Sale did have a very effective early July start against San Francisco, giving up just three hits and one run. On the other side, Blake Snell will get his fourth straight start without an IL stint or the All Star break, for the first time this season.

The Toronto Bluejays are likely looking forward to Monday’s road trip that begins against the LA Angels. They were shutout Saturday for just the third time at home this season, and lost in blowout fashion Sunday as well. The LA Angels have lost four straight games that Davis Daniel has started, as he has struggled the first time through a lineup. Take Toronto.

Today is a buy low spot on both the Oakland As and Toronto Blue Jays to generate runs at the plate. Oakland has totaled just six runs over their last four games. Toronto’s starting pitcher in Chris Bassitt has conceded five home runs over his last four starts. Additionally, Toronto is coming off a rare home shutout loss. The prior two instances they followed up with six and nine runs. Take the over.

Houston has winning momentum once again on a current four game winning streak, and will get to see lefty James Paxton of the Red Sox. Houston is eighth in MLB in batting average against left handed pitching. Additionally, Paxton is a high regression candidate today as he is coming off his first quality start since June 16th.  Take the Astros

The St. Louis Cardinals have been searching for a momentum building win and may have got it Friday. After starting pitcher Miles Mikolas blew a 3-0 lead, the Cardinals did not give up. Victor Scott came through with a clutch two out base hit to knock in the game deciding runs. Expect Andre Pallante’s pitch count to be managed and for St. Louis to deliver at the plate for a second consecutive game. Take St. Louis 

The Cleveland Guardians have sunk to a season worst seven game losing streak. Today creates a buy opportunity as the market showcases favorable indicators on the Cleveland. Lefty Gavin Williams is entering his eighth start of the season, and has had eight strikeouts or more in three straight outings. Take the Guardians to end their losing streak.

Thursday, the Arizona Diamondbacks suffered just their third loss over fifteen games. The last instance they sustained consecutive losses was July 22nd. Expect the Diamondbacks to manage some runs on Zack Wheeler who did give up a season high seven runs two starts ago. Additionally, Philadelphia is trending upward with a knack of scoring volume runs late in games. In yesterday’s game one victory over Arizona they scored all six of their runs from the sixth inning on. Play the over.

A change of scenery can bring about a sudden change for the better for a player. In Paul Blackburn’s first start with the Mets we saw him shutdown the Angels, who did have success against him in his last start for the As. Look for the Mets to be the latest to pile on Ryan Feltner’s record. Give me the Mets

After the bullpen blew Monday’s game to the Rangers in extra innings, Framber Valdez took matters into his own hands on Tuesday. Although he fell just short of a no-hitter he limited the Astros bullpen usage to just two batters. We may see runs today but look for the Astros to take another game over the Rangers with veteran Yusei Kikuchi on the mound.

Wednesday I’ll sell against a Cubs team that has won five of their last seven games. In yesterday’s victory they were able to get on the board in the first inning against Pablo Lopez. Yet, this is an offense that tends to have extremes as we saw being shutout Monday in game one against the Twins. Lay the price with the Twins on a generous price point off of yesterday’s Cubs win. 

The Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves will play their second series in a week’s time. On the mound for Milwaukee will be Colin Rea who pitched effectively in last Monday’s 8-3 win over Atlanta. Look for the Brewers to take game one as Bryce Elder home and away splits have featured a 6.30 home ERA. Take Milwaukee.

Monday the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets will play a makeup game. I do not expect the Cardinals to show rust from playing in the Sunday Night prime time game. Over their last ten games, nine runs or more have been scored in eight matchups. It’s also the second time the Cardinals will see Sean Manea, who is in a regression spot following a season high eleven strikeouts.  Take the over.

The New York Mets find themselves as slight road favorites Monday as they take on the St. Louis Cardinals in a makeup game. The Mets I expect to be aggressive and produce at the plate after falling short in consecutive games to the LA Angels. Andre Pallante did not register a win in the entire month of July, and St. Louis has lost his last three starts. Take the Mets Monday.

In the series between Philadelphia and Seattle we have seen the over come in both Friday and Saturday. Look for runs to calm down Sunday as both Logan Gilbert and Zack Wheeler look to bounce back from rough outings. This is a Phillies lineup I expect to chase at the plate as well as they look to end a season long six game losing streak. Take the under on the total.

The Baltimore Orioles finally took care of business in yesterday’s win against the Cleveland Guardians, and cooled the Guardians bats in the process. Runs had been the strength of Cleveland’s success as they had scored eight and ten in the prior wins. With Corbin Burnes on the mound look for him to keep the Guardians at bay. Take the Orioles as slight road favorites.

The Arizona Diamondbacks continue to be strong at the plate, as they are averaging over eight runs through their last seven games. This includes last weekend’s series against Pittsburgh, and their new road series opener yesterday that resulted in nine runs. The runs likely will come down today against Mitch Keller, but look for the Diamondbacks to do enough to support struggling left hander Jordan Montgomery. Take the Diamondbacks.

The Chicago Cubs carried the momentum from an impressive two out rally on Thursday, to another win Friday over the St. Louis Cardinals. St. Louis continues to trend backwards as they are just 3-6 over their last nine games. Additionally, starting pitcher Kyle Gibson’s last start against Chicago on July 13th, he gave up a season high ten hits. Take the home team in the Cubs to win their fourth straight.

Friday, the LA Angels are one of the few teams that go into today’s series not having had Thursday as an off day. Additionally, they lost consecutive games as a rare home favorite to the Colorado Rockies. Yet, look for Tyler Anderson to continue to deliver as he ranks top ten in ERA. Mets starter Paul Blackburn just pitched against the Angels as a member of the Oakland As in his last start and surrendered multiple home runs. Take the home team in the Angels.

A big worry for the Chicago Cubs has been their ability to keep the momentum at the plate. That’s a concern Thursday in a new series against a divisional opponent, after scoring thirteen runs on Wednesday. Look for Sonny Gray to settle in and perform better than his overall road ERA that is over five. Take St. Louis

The Minnesota Twins head into Tuesday off of their most lopsided loss of the season, 15-2 to the New York Mets. Even off such a poor loss and a one sided pitching matchup today, they are only slight underdogs. Mets starter Sean Manaea has given up five home runs over his last three starts, and is also working up his pitch count early in games. Take the Twins to bounce back Tuesday.

The explosion of the New York Yankees over their last four games has featured a combined forty team runs. In addition over their last five matchups double digit runs have  been scored in their matchups. After seeing one of the top candidates in the National League Cy Young race get hit hard in Zach Wheeler, it’s created a spike in the totals market. Take the under to come in as Aaron Nola and Gerrit Cole do enough before handing it to the bullpens.

On the season Jose Berrios has strong home numbers with a 6-2 record and 3.18 ERA. Yet he has struggled his last two home starts, including giving up a season high six walks his last outing against the Tampa Bay Rays. Additionally, the Blue Jays have won consecutive home games for the first time since June 16th. Back Texas as the road favorite Sunday.

The pendulum has swung in the markets today as the San Diego Padres go from a steep underdog winner Friday, to a road favorite against the Orioles. As great as the Padres have been playing they are in midst of their third straight road series. Look for the Orioles bullpen to keep it together in a close victory and end the Padres six game winning streak. Take Baltimore.

We will continue to pick on the Toronto Blue Jays, who are coming off a 13-0 shutout home loss yesterday to the Tampa Bay Rays. They are now ten games below .500 and certainly sellers before the trade deadline. I do believe they can get some runs off of Andrew Heaney, but this is a Texas team surging that has won five straight. Take the road team here with the Rangers. 

The Tampa Bay Rays are now a game above .500 after yesterday’s win over the Toronto Blue Jays.  Zach Eflin takes the mound today and in two starts this year against the Bluejays he has been hit hard. With the Bluejays current form look for runners on to lead to missed opportunities. Take the slight road favorite here in the Tampa Bay Rays.

St. Louis comes in off a winning road series against the Atlanta Braves. Look for their momentum to carry over in game one over the Pittsburgh Pirates, as they have won both series this season against Pittsburgh. A strong angle also lies with Pirates starter Mitch Keller, who the Pirates have won in ten of his last twelve starts. The two losses were both to St. Louis on June 13th and July 2nd. Take St. Louis

With yesterday’s victory the Houston Astros took over first place in the AL West for the first time this season. Seattle’s struggles at the plate have been inexplicable as they were shutout Friday, and had just three hits yesterday. Look for an early run to possibly spark this Mariner’s team out of their rut, as Ronel Blanco did concede two runs in the first inning his last start. Play the under valued Mariners Sunday.

The Cleveland Guardians prior to All Star break were shutout in two of three games. Yesterday they had a rare home shutout loss, 7-0 against the San Diego Padres. Cleveland had just one hit as a team, and that’s going to be tough to snap out of in an early Sunday game. Michael King has been strong on the road with a 2.74 ERA. Take the Padres.

The Arizona Diamondbacks had an impressive 5-2 win Friday over the Chicago Cubs. Saturday they find themselves as sizable favorites despite Zac Gallen’s recent struggles. Prior to the All Star break he had issues in three straight outings, including allowing six runs in one inning. Look for a bounce back spot from Gallen, and for the Diamondbacks lineup to have success against Kyle Hendricks for the second time this season.

An important series post All Star break will take place between the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners. The Astros are just two games back of Seattle, and will have Hunter Brown on the mound tonight. Brown pitched effectively his last start against Seattle, with nine strikeouts and gave up just one run. Take Houston, as Seattle continues their struggles at the plate.

Boston Red Sox starter Brayan Bello has had his struggles since June. In five of his last seven starts he has given up four or more runs. Still, Bello ranks tenth in wins this season, including wins in three of his last four starts. He is also coming off an eleven strikeout performance. Take the Red Sox at home in the final game before All Star break over the Kansas City Royals.

In Gerrit Cole’s first start back he faced the Baltimore Orioles with Cade Povich as the opposing starter. Povich worked out of several jams, and the Orioles forced Cole out early. This time around I expect at least one of the starters to settle in from ERA’s over six. In the first matchup it still took a three run shot in the latter innings from Stanton to go over. A game that of course will still have it’s power moments, but not enough to go over the nine. Take the under.

San Francisco has dipped to three games below .500, but still remains a strong home team on the year at 26-20. Although the Blue Jays have won three of four games, it is still a tough spot for them today. It’s their sixth game in a row on a West Coast road trip with an early start time. Take the Giants with the Blue Jays coming off an abnormal ten runs yesterday, which matched a season high.

Today look for the Arizona Diamondbacks to bounce back at home tonight off a rare Zac Gallen home loss. Charlie Morton of the Atlanta Braves has solid all around season stats, but has had his issues in three out of his last five starts. This includes struggling the second time through the San Francisco Giants lineup on the fourth of July. It was the first time this season that Morton surrendered multiple home runs. Take the Diamondbacks.

Today is a loaded card on the diamond featuring seventeen games. Sometimes the back end of a double header can be overlooked from a value stand point. St. Louis has surged forward into the NL playoff race, and is just four games back of the Milwaukee Brewers for the NL Central division lead. Royals starter Michael Wacha has the pressure of returning to St. Louis where he began his first seven years in the big leagues. Take St. Louis to spoil his return in the second game of today’s double header.

Even on a steep moneyline offering you can find teams under valued. Baltimore is just .500 over their last sixteen games, but is still top tier bouncing back from a loss especially at home. The Cubs offense off a break out game at the plate is always in line for severe regression the following night. Take the Orioles on a price that has steamed up.

On the fourth of July, Jake Irvin and Jose Quintana both did not give up a run in a game Washington ended up winning 1-0. Since that victory, the Nationals have given up six runs or more in four straight games. Look for that problem to arise whether Jake Irvin has a strong game or not, as the Mets take advantage of the National’s bullpen. Play the Mets.

The New York Yankees downgraded play has been noticeable during Carlos Rodon’s starts. In each of his last four appearances the New York Yankees have lost. At the plate the Yankees have scored two runs or less in three of the four games, and have had lopsided losses against division rivals in Toronto and Boston. Take the Rays to hand the Yankees yet another loss.

Monday, the Texas Rangers travel to Los Angeles to take on the Angels. It’s their second trip to Los Angeles in recent weeks, as they won two of three games over the LA Dodgers. Texas has proven to be very streaky and currently they are on a three game winning streak, which included thirteen runs yesterday. Take the Rangers against the inexperienced Angels starting pitcher Davis Daniel.

San Francisco had a nice opening road win yesterday over the Cleveland Guardians, 4-2. Saturday, left handed pitcher Kyle Harrison makes his return after missing the last couple of starts. I certainly expect the Guardians to take advantage early on. Yet, this has been a resilient Giants team we saw erase an early deficit Thursday against the Braves. Take them as an underdog to get back to .500.
