Even in a loss last week Washington State showed they have something special to build forward on with quarterback Cameron Ward. The sophomore dazzled on the big stage against Oregon, and put himself on the map nation wide. Still look for the California Bears to be able to neutralize what the Cougars want to do on both sides of the football. They’ll control the pace of play and keep this game within reach late. Take the Bears plus the points. 

South Alabama would be undefeated if not for a last second loss against UCLA. The Jaguars have the possibility to make some noise in the Sun Belt conference but will have to avoid a let down spot. Saturday on the road against UL Lafayette should pose an interesting challenge ATS-wise. South Alabama should continue to win but the challenge of covering steep numbers will be the issue here. Take the home underdog in UL Lafayette.

Last week the Buffalo Bulls ended a seven game losing streak by handily defeating Eastern Michigan, 50-31. Now for the second consecutive week they will aim to knock off a MAC opponent that is coming off defeating a Power 5 school. Look for the Bulls to accept the challenge as their offense continues to rise in play with quarterback Cole Snyder. Take the Bulls to topple the RedHawks who are coming off defeating Northwestern. 

Jumping up from American Conference football to the Big 12 was a huge leap for quarterback Dillon Gabriel. Thus far the pace and high level athletes has not deterred Gabriel as he has 11 touchdown passes and zero interceptions. That will be needed on the road against a TCU team that led from start to finish in last week’s victory over SMU. Expect a lot of points but for the Sooners to have the answers in a hostile road environment. Take Oklahoma.

Friday nights in the Pac-12 begins with a stellar matchup of two undefeated teams. The Washington Huskies have ascended to fifteenth in the country at 4-0, and will face a dynamic Bruins team led by fifth year senior quarterback in Dorian Thompson Robinson. Under new first year Coach Kalen DeBoer the Huskies have a new level of play and confidence. Take the road team Huskies to win their first road game this season.

After two road games to begin the season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will finally host a home game in week three. It will be against a Packers team they have had success against with a blowout regular season win and NFC championship game upset two seasons ago. Even though the Buccaneers are 2-0, they have had issues in the red zone converting touchdowns. Look for the Packers to match their level of intensity and get the road win Sunday.

A new team that surges forth to new expectations should not knock down their opponent. This is the case with Philadelphia crushing the Vikings Monday Night Football. For the Vikings they will move forward and face a divisional opponent for the second time in two weeks. I expect Minnesota to execute their game plan much more fluidly as they did against the Packers week one. Take the Vikings as Detroit sustains their first ATS loss of the season.

Two of the worst rated division one teams will square off tonight as Hawaii travels to face New Mexico State. The Aggies have been trounced in every phase and have scored just three touchdowns their first four games. Tonight that should change against Hawaii’s poor defense. With New Mexico State being an independent school they have scheduled the easier portion of their schedule where conference play normally would be. Take New Mexico State.

If there is a team and coach that has big time pressure to respond off a bad loss it is Michigan State and Coach Tucker. They showed up late but the final score of 39 to 28 was not indicative of how poor the Spartans played against Washington. Now back at home they’ll face a Minnesota team that has a ton of experience and will be hungry to showcase themselves on the road. Take Minnesota as Michigan State is the team that was ranked improperly and will continue to falter. 

TCU Horned Frogs senior quarterback Max Duggan will get his last chance at toppling SMU. In two other career starts against SMU the Horned Frogs could not pull through in close contests. This includes aU 42-34 loss last season. In that contest they did intercept SMU quarterback Tanner Mordecai three times, which is the most he has had in one game. Look for the Horned Frogs to battle the road elements and squeak out a win.

Through two weeks the Pittsburgh Steelers offense has been protected by their sound defense. In week one they forced several turnovers from Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow. In Sunday’s contest the Patriots simplicity kept the Steelers comfortable offensively. In Thursday’s game look for the Browns to heavily feature their ground game and screen offense to get an early lead. That will force the Steelers hand offensively, which in turn will lead to Steelers miscues or short fields for Cleveland. Take the home team in the Browns. 

Two teams with opposite records will clash Thursday in the Sun Belt as Coastal Carolina travels to face Georgia State. Two of Georgia State’s losses are acceptable as they faced two power five teams in North Carolina and South Carolina. The inexcusable loss was this past Saturday as the Panthers lost as twenty point favorites outright to Charlotte. Expect Shawn Elliott to have his team much more prepared against a familiar opponent in Sun Belt rival Coastal Carolina. They’ll cover as the home underdog, as they take down Grayson McCall in the Chanticleers. 

Grading a team that loses outright as a big road favorite is one of the common over reactions assessing NFL ATS. This is boosted even more after week one of the NFL season. San Francisco played in poor conditions in Chicago and are still bringing along inexperienced quarterback Trey Lance. Expect the game plan to unfold much better at home against a divisional opponent in the Seahawks.

The New York Jets stock pile of injuries on both sides of the football made them look like the same New York Jets week one. Offensively it will be a challenge to muster much through the passing game with Joe Flacco, but I think they can work on establishing the run game against the Browns. This spread is a bit too high even against the Browns stout rushing attack. Take the Jets getting the 6.5.

It does not get any easier for the Aggies after a surprising loss to Appalachian State last week. They’ll now take on the Hurricanes with even tougher opponents in SEC play ahead on their schedule. A year ago this matchup would have been too big of a moment for Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke. Tonight look for the Hurricanes to take that program step forward, and cover a generous six points on the road. Play Miami.

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will have the benefit of extended rest for Saturday’s matchup against Indiana. They did not play last week and the prior week faced one of the worst teams in division one football in Hawaii. While Indiana has been a slow first half team they should have an advantage against a Hilltoppers team that has been susceptible to the pass. Take Indiana to finally play two halves of solid football. 

A pattern with teams on the obvious decline is predictable where their season will end. Often times though a team with lowered expectations such as the Pittsburgh Steelers will create a glimmer early in the season. After losing to the Bengals by double digits of fourteen and thirty-one, this is a chance for the defense to be motivated and let their offense take the safe approach. Take the points here with the Steelers. 

The Miami Dolphins reloaded in all areas on the field and on the sidelines. Meeting new expectations at home can be a hard burden to shoulder especially against a division opponent. The Patriots don’t have the top to bottom roster that exudes the standard of past teams, but they have the coaching pedigree to get the edge when it matters most. They will keep it close enough that if the spread comes into play you will be happy to have the full three and a half. Take New England.

Laying a big number on the road is always a tricky spot in the NFL especially in week one. For Baltimore game one is important because of how bad their season free failed last year. After October third they won just one road game the remaining of the season, and lost six straight to conclude the year. Even against a much improved Jets team look for the Ravens to execute in detail in all phases, and push enough past this number. Take Baltimore.

An early season non-conference yearly pattern has been the Mountain West giving the Pac-12 fits. That has started to sway as we saw in last week’s big victory for Arizona over San Diego State. Tonight, look for Oregon State to carry over the strong defensive effort we saw in last week’s victory over Boise State. In what should be a back and forth contest take the Beavers to prevail over the experience of the Bulldogs.  

Central Michigan’s third year starting quarterback in Daniel Richardson put up a marvelous effort in last week’s loss to Oklahoma State. For Saturday the Chippewas will host a South Alabama team working in new starters on both sides of the football, including at quarterback and running back. Ironically, the Jaguars new quarterback in Carter Bradley is a transfer from Toledo. He has played against Central Michigan three times including a victory as a starter in 2020. Take the Jaguars to hang within the number at plus six. 

The Big 12 finds themselves as a big favorite Saturday against SEC opponent in Missouri. The Wildcats new starting quarterback Adrian Martinez did not dazzle in his debut against South Dakota, with just fifty-three passing yards. Yet, he avoided any turnovers which was the big problem when he was at Nebraska. Expect, Kansas State to churn away with their physicality and wear down Missouri. Take Kansas State.

Over the years the Sun Belt conference has made some noise in their early season matchups against the SEC. In fact, Georgia State held their own last season against Auburn and defeated Tennessee outright in 2019. Yet, South Carolina will be a different gear of offense for Georgia State’s defense to handle. Yes, Spencer Rattler will still be turnover prone but the Gamecocks will have the defense to negate Georgia State from scoring in the high 20’s. Take South Carolina.

The Utah Utes aspirations to be a legitimate top team will be threatened right off the bat against Florida. There surely will be rust out the gate that will make the road environment in Gainesville a difficult obstacle. Yet, this Utes team is a different level with Cam Rising under center. Take Utah to survive early issues and dominate the second half. 

A change from the FCS level to division one right off the bat is sometime a difficult change. For James Madison it shouldn’t be they played well on the FCS level, and will face a Middle Tennessee team that’s struggled the past few seasons. Yet I expect this to be a competitive game wire to wire. James Madison may win but it’ll be by less than four points. Take Middle Tennessee. 

Nevada was one of the few teams that played in week zero. Although the Wolf Pack won it was a sloppy contest that showed there will be a hard transition without quarterback Carson Strong. Texas State is typically not in the role of favorite but have experience on their side. New quarterback Layne Hatcher was a three year starter at Arkansas State and should have no issues on the road against Nevada. Take Texas State.

The LA Rams are back in the NFC Championship and will host against the San Francisco 49ers. With so many well known name players on their team this seems like their moment. But San Francisco has had their number, and continue to find gritty ways to win games. Continue to ride the hot hand of San Francisco and take the points here. 

The San Francisco 49ers come into their playoff game today against Green Bay streaking. It’s going to be a very difficult matchup for Green Bay based on Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers success against Green Bay. Yet, the Packers have been a team on the cusp for years. This is their moment to override and ride their potent offense to the NFC championship game. Take Green Bay to have a flurry to take down San Francisco. 

A team that has surged before the playoffs have been the San Francisco 49ers. They are 7-2 their last nine games and picked up a huge win last week against the Rams. Look for their confidence to carry over in a tough road spot against Dallas. San Francisco has the experience edge from their Super Bowl run a few years back, and will compete at a high level. 

Monday, in the BCS title game Alabama will meet Georgia for the second time in close to a month’s range. Alabama’s consistent presence in the title game, and their 41-24 victory over Georgia have not deterred the point spread. Similar to the Clemson Tigers, look for Georgia’s time to override their history against the Crimson Tide. Take Georgia as they win the BCS title. 

Growth during a regular season changes fast in the month of December and into January. For the LA Chargers they withstood a tough overtime loss to Kansas City and a disastrous loss to Houston. Controlling their playoff destiny expect the Chargers to complete the difficult task of sweeping a divisional rival in the Raiders. Take the Chargers as the Raiders close out another regular season just short of the playoffs.

Nothing has been pretty for the Saints offensively since losing Jamies Winston to injury. Throughout it all they find themselves in the drivers seat for a postseason birth. To get there they will need to defeat a divisional foe in the Atlanta Falcons on the road. This is a spot where Sean Payton shines. He’ll have enough play calls offensively and ride his defense for the turnover edge. Take the Saints on the money line.

With Joe Burrow out the Cincinnati Bengals offense will be in trouble in the season finale against the Cleveland Browns. Last year the Bengals showcased just how ill prepared they are with the backup quarterback position. Sunday’s starter in Brandon Allen averaged just 185 yards passing in five starts a season ago. Look for the Browns to finish off their season properly even minus Baker Mayfield. Take Cleveland.

Tuesday, the last bowl game before the BCS Championship will be LSU versus Kansas State. Expect the trend of the non BCS SEC bowl teams to continue to struggle. Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Mississippi State all lost outright, with Kentucky needing a final drive touchdown to secure a win. Kansas State may lack the flashy plays but they can churn away with a simplistic game plan for four quarters. Play the Wildcats. 

Two weeks ago the LA Chargers appeared destined for an AFC playoff berth at 8-5. Consecutive losses have them on the outside looking in. They’ll aim to bounce back from an inexcusable loss last week against the Texans, against an injury-riddled Denver Broncos. Expect the Chargers to take full advantage and not leave a window for a possible Broncos comeback. Grab LA.

Last Sunday, the Washington Football were embarrassed in prime time, 56-14 to the Dallas Cowboys. Poor losing streaks have been a staple for Ron Rivera coached teams dating back to his final years with Carolina. Look for the Eagles to accomplish the difficult task of defeating a divisional opponent two times in twelve days. 

The Baylor Bears managed to finish out the year with four straight wins. Three of those came with starting quarterback Gerry Bohanon out with a hamstring injury. His timely return for the Sugar Bowl should give the Bears the necessary offense to match Ole Miss. Take the Bears in what should be one of the best bowl games on New Year’s Day.  

The Utah Utes are one of the top what if teams in college football. If Cam Rising had began the season at quarterback versus Charlie Brewer they may have been a one loss team. The Utes come in with six straight wins, and will be a team to watch for next year. Although the Buckeyes may win, look for the Utes to keep this with four points. Take Utah.

Arizona State has had yet another season of a predictable pattern. An early season top twenty five ranking, quickly become derailed in-conference. An overall down season for the Pac-12 helped mask further issues with the Sun Devils. Look for Wisconsin to have no issues from a travel stand point, as ASU ends the season with a poor showing.

Today’s Peach Bowl between Pittsburgh and Michigan State will be without two Heisman finalists. Quarterback Kenny Pickett from Pittsburgh will not play, along with running back Kenneth Walker from Michigan State. Look for Michigan State to take full advantage of backup quarterback Nick Patti’s limited experience, and push past the number late. Take the Spartans on the small number. 

The Oklahoma Sooners had one of the more interesting seasons of a power five school. Their former starting quarterback Spencer Rattler was benched, and now has transferred to South Carolina. Unexpectedly Lincoln Riley also moved on and took a position with USC. Look for the Sooners not to lack motivation tonight against the Ducks. This will be a showcase performance in tonight’s Valermo Bowl, as Oregon loses for the third time in their final four games. 

Mississippi State’s issues with their 7-5 season were three losses by three points or less. It overshadowed three ranked wins over SEC opponents, and a win over currently ranked NC State. A high line exists against Texas Tech due to issues with the starting quarterback leaving the program, and Mike Leach’s motivation against his former team. Yet, look for the Bulldogs to play down to the level of Texas Tech, and falter ATS. Grab Texas Tech.

Sometimes there are teams that barely make a bowl game at 6-6, that are actually better than their .500 record. Out of the ACC, Louisville is a team that fits that description. They had two close losses by three points or less in-conference, and had three strong non-conference games against Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Central Florida. Take Louisville as Malik Cunningham utilizes his four years of experience and gives the Falcons troubles. Play Louisville. 

Tuesday, the Houston Cougars will play against Auburn in the first of five bowl games. Houston’s strength of schedule has cast doubt on their overall record of 11-2. Yet, Auburn’s had issues with transfers and an end of season slide that featured four straight losses. Take Houston to adjust to Auburn’s defense and topple the Tigers. 

One of the more predictable teams this year in the NFL have been the Washington Football team. After winning four straight they’ve now back pedaled in losing consecutive games. Expect the Dallas Cowboys to build upon the defensive schemes that frustrated quarterback Taylor Heinicke two weeks ago. In the outing Heinicke had a season low eleven completions and threw for just 122 yards. Take Dallas as they sweep the Washington Football team.  

The Buffalo Bills will aim to avoid a season series sweep via their division rivals in the New England Patriots. In the prior matchup the Patriots dominated the line of scrimmage and threw the football for just nineteen yards with quarterback Mac Jones. Expect the Bills to open things up offensively and force the Patriots into a completely different game plan. Take Buffalo as they tie the divisional race tightens up in the AFC East.

One of the first teams to have Covid issues this NFL season were the Green Bay Packers. Throughout it they’ve maintained their upper echelon play, and are coming off a thrilling offensive performance against the Bears. With Covid issues now plaguing the NFL, look for the Packers to not show any mercy even in a December road game against Baltimore. Play the Packers. 

The Atlanta Falcons pulled off an impressive win last Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. It boosted Atlanta to 6-7, which still gives them a small chance for a playoff spot. Yet, the last time they played consecutive road games they had their worst loss of the season, 43-3 to Dallas. Look for San Francisco to have no issues as they finally play to a high level at home. Take San Francisco. 

The spotlight Sunday night will be on Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields. Statistically he has struggled but Sunday can be a turning point to his season. Mentally Fields should be a bit more relaxed as the Packers will be the first team Fields has ever seen twice. Expect the Bears to have a safe approach but build upon a 24-14 loss against the Packers earlier this season. Take Chicago to keep this within the double-digit spread.

Sunday, we will continue to buy stock on teams coming off a Monday Night loss. Buffalo has dipped to 7-5, and will face a streaking Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. Weather will not be an issue, and expect the offense to bounce back significantly under Josh Allen. Take the Bills in a game they need for a confidence booster.

Just as they did last season the Washington Football team has put themselves in playoff position. They’ve won four straight games but have seen a dip in offensive production their last two games. Expect the Dallas Cowboys to utilize having had consecutive Thursday games to their advantage. Take the Cowboys to remain unblemished against the spread in their division this season.

One of Andy Reid’s specialities is having his team prepared post bye week. I know the Chiefs have had their issues this year ATS-wise, and especially in prime time. But Teddy Bridgewater is a game manager that’s not suited for this type of game. Expect the Chiefs to dictate the pace early and make things difficult. Grab the Chiefs. 

Zack had a bit of a family emergency Saturday so his apologies for his later than usual Sunday NFL postings. But he had his board finalized and one play involves the Seattle Seahawks. We’ve seen poor teams on short weeks of a MNF loss have value the following Sunday. I expect that from the Seahawks who defeated the 49ers earlier this season. Play the home underdog here.

Throughout the season the Baltimore Ravens have been fortunate to get wins late in games. They were able to do so yet again last week against Chicago, and that was minus Lamar Jackson. Yet, look for Cleveland to take advantage of an odd schedule. They’ll have a bye week next week before hosting the Ravens again. Look for Cleveland to have the extra motivation before and post bye week.

The Miami Dolphins have now won three consecutive games, as they’ve been able to thrive off their defense. Yet, they have had glaring issues offensively with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Expect the Panthers offense to be more settled in with Cam Newton’s second start, and for the Panthers to end the Dolphins win streak. Grab the road favorite Panthers. 

 Nevada and Colorado State will square off tonight in a regular season finale in the Mountain West. For Nevada their season could be completely different if not for three of their four losses being by two points. This includes consecutive weeks of losses to San Diego State and Air Force. With the Nevada Wolf Pack’s vulnerability high, look for Colorado State to play up to their level. Take Colorado State.

A team that has turned their fortunes around has been Florida State. Once 0-4 with a lowly loss to Jacksonville State, they’ve now won five of their last seven. An opportunity to go to a bowl game now exists if they can beat Florida Saturday. Expect Florida’s losing fortune’s ATS to continue, as Florida State holds tough. Grab the Seminoles. 

Last Sunday against the Packers, Russell Wilson’s return from injury went about as poorly as one can imagine. The offense did not sustain drives and were shutout. Yet, Arizona is not in dominating form as their 8-2 record would suggest. Look for the Seahawks to bounce back and end the Cardinals undefeated road record this season. 

The Minnesota Vikings are going to look back on this season with a should be mentality. All five of their losses have been by seven points or less, and four by four points or less. Look for their win against the Chargers on the road to serve as the turning point for the Vikings. Take Minnesota against a Packers team that will feel the pain of not having Aaron Jones available. 

The New York Jets find themselves in a tough predicament Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, with Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback. Over his last fourteen starts Flacco’s teams are just 2-12 overall. Additionally, he last every start as a Jet last season including a 24-0 loss to the Dolphins. Take Miami to win their third straight.

A team that has been rolling is Utah State out of the Mountain West. They’ve won five straight games, and are coming off an incredible turn around stout performance against San Jose State. Tonight’s game against Wyoming may be a trap spot, as the Cowboys have dropped five of their last six. Look for the Cowboys ability to keep games low scoring to have an impact on Utah State’s overall game plan. Back Wyoming. 

A team that has had a strong reversal to their season are the Utah Utes. Utah began the season with Charlie Brewer as starting quarterback and faltered to a 1-2 start. Since Cameron Rising has stepped in the Utes have turned the corner and are tied with Oregon with a 6-1 Pac-12 record. Expect their home edge, and hunger to knock off third ranked Oregon to cash ATS. Back the Utes

The Auburn Tigers head into Saturday’s road game against South Carolina with consecutive losses. Compounding matters is they will lean on a new starting quarterback in T.J. Finley as Bo Nix has been lost for the season with injury. Yet, the Gamecocks are a team that self destructs on both sides of the football at inopportune times. Look for the Tigers to capitalize and convert turnovers into points. Grab Auburn.

Turmoil has struck the Las Vegas Raiders off the field, that was definitely a catalyst in last week’s loss to the Giants. Sunday night they’ll aim to regroup at home against a Kansas City Chiefs team that still has not looked sharp offensively. Expect the Chiefs new way of winning without the glitz and glamour to continue as the Raiders back pedal further. Play the Chiefs.

The Denver Broncos are coming off one of the best outright underdog wins on the football season. They defeated the Dallas Cowboys handily and were up 30-0, before late scores by the Cowboys. Sunday, they return home to face an NFC East team for a third straight week in the Eagles. Grab the Eagles as all their wins have come on the road, and Denver’s pattern of inconsistencies hold true. Grab Philadelphia. 

The Tennessee Titans have pulled off one of the more improbable stretches in recent years. They’ve won four straight games all as underdogs against formidable opponents. Sunday, look for a difficult spot against a Saints team that is always well prepared under Sean Payton. Furthermore, the Saints have won seven straight road games on Sunday’s against AFC opponents since 2017. Play the Saints.

In the night cap San Jose State will host Utah State in the mountain west. Utah State has utilized the weaker portion of their Mountain West schedule to run off four straight victories.  Expect the Aggies to continue to shine as San Jose State has not lived up to last year’s undefeated regular season. Grab the points here on the underdog. 

After a win last week against Auburn, Texas A&M has stretched their winning streak to four games. The defense has been the catalyst limiting opponents to fourteen points or less in three straight games. A challenge to contain Matt Corral of Ole Miss means that sophomore quarterback Zach Calzada will need to step it up. Expect him to answer the call and for the Aggies to grab their fifth straight win.

Missouri has had a season to forget, and is coming off a 43-6 loss to Georgia. With starting quarterback Connor Bazelak questionable, the offense could be in for more problems today against South Carolina. Yet on the road the Gamecocks are 0-3 in SEC play. Take the Tigers to reverse their fortunes and get back to .500.

For Monday night football look for the Steelers to finally show an offensive push. On the season they have not scored more than twenty seven points in any game. That’s unusual to see this big of a number with a diminished offense. Yet they’ve one three in a row and have a clear edge over a Bears team struggling on both sides of the football. Take the Steelers.

The loss of Derrick Henry has drastically changed where people believe the Titans can finish on the year. A change to a running back committee that will feature Adrian Peterson, will now shift the burden on the passing game and Ryan Tannehill. Even with injury concerns at wide receiver look for the Titans to continue shining ATS. Take the touchdown underdogs. 

One of the more peculiar losses on the season happened last week as the Bengals fell to the Jets. Look for the wake up call to get the Bengals going Sunday against division rivals in the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland, which once looked like a formidable playoff team has lost it’s team identity. Take the Bengals.

The last four season the Las Vegas Raiders have been brutal out of a bye week. They’re 0-4 with an average loss of twenty one points. With the New York Giants on a short week the Raiders may get out in front early. Yet, in the second half look for the Giants to come from behind against a Raiders team that has had a multitude of off the field issues recently. Take the Giants.

Four weeks ago it appeared that the Texas Longhorns had figured things out at 4-1. Three straight second half collapses against Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Baylor have quickly changed the Longhorns course. Yet, Iowa State is a proper opponent for the Longhorns to get back on track. Even in a tough road environment play the points on the underdog in Texas. 

The pressure is on the fourth ranked Oregon Ducks to survive the final stretch of the college football season. Saturday, they’ll face the Washington Huskies who have been wildly inconsistent at 4-4. Their lack of offense has resulted in twenty four points or less in four straight games. Yet, in two Pac-12 road games the Oregon Ducks lost to Stanford and won by just three points against UCLA. Take the points here with Washington.

For the third straight week the Tennessee Volunteers will face a top twenty team. Overall on the year they are 0-3 against ranked teams, but will face a Kentucky Wildcats team that has lost consecutive games. Expect Tennessee to finally put together a solid game plan and hand the Wildcats their third straight loss. Play Tennessee. 

The Washington Football team may have a poor record at 2-5, but all five of their losses have been against quality teams. In last week’s loss against the Packers they moved the football well, but just could not execute in plus territory. Expect better execution against a Broncos team that is not trustworthy ATS. The Carolina Panthers have reversed course with four consecutive losses. Prior to last week’s loss against the Giants the Panthers had chances in winnable games. Expect a game within the division for the first times since week two to help alleviate some of the Panthers woes. Take Carolina plus the points against the Falcons. 

The San Francisco 49ers find themselves in a must win situation Sunday against the Bears. A positive for San Francisco is they have been a better team on the road than at home. Furthermore, Chicago has a multitude of issues with their offense and will be without Coach Matt Nagy. Take the 49ers to cover and end their losing streak. 

A team that has soared to new heights over the last month has been the Virginia Cavaliers. They’ve won four straight games in-conference against Miami, Louisville, Duke, and Georgia Tech. They’ll now have a chance for consecutive statements as they face BYU tonight and Notre Dame next week. Led by quarterback Brennan Armstrong look for Virginia to keep playing at a high level on the road against the Cougars. Take Virginia. 

Out in the SEC Ole Miss will try to keep their impressive rise in the polls alive against Auburn. In order to do so they’ll need to find other ways for a spark with their quarterback Matt Corral not at one hundred percent. Expect Ole Miss’s bend but not break defense to continue to make game changing plays when needed. Grab Ole Miss.

In September the Virginia Tech Hokies entered the top twenty-five after defeating North Carolina and Middle Tennessee State. Since they’ve dropped four of their last five games, with the defense struggling. Saturday expect their woes to continue against Georgia Tech as it’s their first road game since September 18th. Take Georgia Tech. 

The Washington Football team have surrendered twenty-nine or more points in five straight weeks. Sunday, they’ll face a Green Bay Packers team that is coming off consecutive impressive road victories. Expect an up tempo game but for Washington to finally cover against a team above .500. Take the value here on Washington.

The 1-4 New York Jets are off their bye week and will face the New England Patriots for the second time this season. In week two of their first meeting the Patriots won 25-6. Yet, the Patriots are 0-4 at home this year and are coming off a disheartening overtime loss against the Dallas Cowboys. Take the Jets as Zach Wilson shows improvements from a dismal four interception performance in their first meeting. Play Jets. 

Virginia is coming off an impressive, 48-0 victory over Duke last week. The win marked their third straight victory. Yet the prior four ACC games for Virginia the defense had surrendered an average of forty points. Look for the Yellow Jackets to implement a strategic game plan post their bye week. West Virginia’s rocky season has featured an 0-3 start to Big 12 conference play. Prior to last week’s blowout loss to Baylor, the Mountaineers had two close three point losses against Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Today, expect a much stronger effort against a poor Horned Frogs defense. Take West Virginia.

One of the more shocking losses last Saturday, outside the power five was Louisiana Tech against UTEP. The Bulldogs could not muster any offense and scored a season-low three points. At home and against an undefeated ranked Texas San-Antonio expect a better showcase. Take the Bulldogs. 

Last Sunday, the New England Patriots found themselves down 22-9 against Davis Mills and the Houston Texans. The deficit forced the Patriots to open things up more under rookie quarterback Mac Jones. Jones responded with three drives that led to field goals and another that led to a touchdown. Look for Jones to show growth and for the Patriots to challenge a Cowboys team that has not been on the road since September 19th.

Win or lose the Cincinnati Bengals have been involved in close games. In fact four of their five games have been decided by three points or less. Expect that to be an issue against a Detroit Lions team hungry to end their winless start to the season at 0-5. Take Detroit who already has one home cover this season against an AFC North team in the Baltimore Ravens. 

Out in the Pac-12, the Washington Huskies are truly a team that is a work in progress. At 2-3, they’ve exhibited the ups and downs that comes with a program rebuilding. Saturday, should be a great spot for the Huskies. They are coming off a bye week and will face a Bruins team on the road for the third time in four games. Back the home team here in Washington.

Saturday, Ole Miss will be on the road for just their second game this season against Tennessee. The Rebels survived a back and forth action packed game last Saturday against Arkansas. As great as Hendon Hooker has been for the Vols, Ole Miss’s offense under Matt Corral will be too much for Tennessee. Take the Rebels. 

In consecutive weeks Washington State has won outright as underdogs. Last week they upset Oregon State 31-24, and the week prior handily defeated California 21-6. In both instances the Cougars locked in defensively and limited the opposing quarterback. Saturday poses a different challenge as Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee has quick strike ability. Take Stanford to offset last week’s road loss against Arizona State. 

The Rutger Scarlet Knights have had to face three straight ranked Big Ten teams. All ended up being losses against Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan State. Saturday they’ll face a Northwestern team that has not resembled Wildcats teams of years past. Grab Rutgers to unleash on a Wildcats team that will be rusty from the start following their bye week. The LA Chargers are coming off two statement victories over the Chiefs and in prime time over the Raiders. The common opponent victory over the Chiefs to Cleveland’s loss against Kansas City is an ATS factor. Furthermore, the Browns are on the road for the second straight week. Grab Cleveland to win this game in the trenches as they enforce a heavy ground attack with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. 

The Philadelphia Eagles have been unimpressive in three consecutive weeks. Offensively they’ve failed to generate a proper ground game to offset the inexperience of quarterback Jalen Hurts. Look for unique designs to be implemented to get the offense going, against a Carolina Panthers team that has overachieved to begin the year. Take the points with Philadelphia.

Green Bay has covered three straight weeks thanks to opportunistic plays by both the defense and offense. Sunday may be their toughest challenge yet as they’ll face a Bengals team with extra days off. Look for the Bengals problem of playing four quarters of solid football to catch up to them. The New York Jets are coming off a huge overtime win over the Tennessee Titans. A problem for a rookie quarterback is replicating success in back to back weeks. Adding to the difficulty for Zach Wilson will be competing in London. Yet, look for the Jets to be facilitated by their defense as the Falcons continue to struggle late in games. Take the Jets. 

Tulsa has one of the more peculiar records in college football at 1-4. They’re coming off a lopsided 45-10 loss against Houston as small favorites. The same spread presents itself today against Memphis. This time look for the Golden Hurricane to take advantage of a suspect Memphis defense, and a freshman quarterback in Seth Henigan. Play Tulsa.

One of the top matchups of the day will be Michigan at Nebraska. The undefeated Wolverines have cracked the top ten at 5-0. Although the Cornhuskers are 3-3, they are undefeated at home. Look for Nebraska to play up to the level of Michigan and threaten the Wolverines undefeated record. Play Nebraska.

In last week’s rout victory Georgia Southern dominated Arkansas State, 59-33. The Eagles scored more in the victory than they had in the prior three games combined. On the road expect challenges to their offense to reemerge. Take Troy as the Trojans look revived following a three-game road trip.
