Cal Irvine's last road game was 58-48 (106 points) at Wyoming and an earlier game at San Jose State was 51-50 (101 points).
I am hoping that LSU will control the pace as they are at home and are a big favorite. I have seen 138.5 at a book but 137.5 is at Olympic.

Minnesota has lost just one game and are playing at home. They lost their best player (Trevor Mbakwe) to an injury a few weeks ago. Since the injury they have focused more on defense. Let's look at their last 4 home games:
St. Peters 116 App St 126 USC 95 Va Tech 113
Let's look at Central Michigan as they have played 21 unders and 6 overs in their last 27 road games. Let's look at some recent CMU games. The Charlotte game went into overtime and made it into the 150's.
Tenn St 122 Temple 160 Dartmouth 113 Buffalo 114 Pepperdine 124 Char 122 (before OT)
There were two other CMU games that were high scoring but Minnesota is the better team and playing at home so they should dictate the pace. The Minnesota Golden Gophers are led by Ralph Sampson Jr., whose dad is a former college Player Of The Year at Virginia.

UNC just lost at Kentucky and before that played at home vs. Wisconsin in a very low scoring game that was played at Wisconsin's pace.
Evasville played earlier versus Indiana and made it to 167 points and their only raod game this year made it to 154 at Ill Chicago (79-75).
UNC won at Evansville last year in a low scoing game but their game at UNC back in 2008 ended 91-73 (164 points) and the total was set at 157. The Aces only made 2/10 3-pointers in that game.
Evansville gets points from Colt Ryan 19.7 ppg. Harris adds 13, Cox gets 10.5 and Holmes near 9 points a game.
UNC should set the pace as they did at home earlier vs. Tenn State (171 points) and Miss Valley State (176) and their game at UNC-Asheville made it to 166 points.
I expect Zeller, Barnes, Henson, McAdoo, Hairston, Strickland and Bullock to score points for the Tar Heels as we hope to see a game in the 90-70 range.

Wisconsin at UNC over 135 15 units
These two played back in 2005 and the halftime score was 88-82 (170 points!). Wisconsin has yet to play a true road game. They did play BYU (34-32 halftime score) and made it to 66 points at the break. Wisconsin games average 112 ppg while UNC is at 159 so they put the total near the middle and came up with 135. They are expecting 63 in the 1st Half and 72 in the 2nd half.
Zeller played poorly in Las Vegas so I expect UNC to get the ball down low to him. Harrison Barnes may or may not play but UNC does have McAdoo, Hairston and Bullock as nice bench players who can score. Here are UNC halftime totals:
UNLV 80 So Car 77 Tenn St 97 Miss V 68 UNCA 87 Mich St 61
The UNC/Michigan State game on the ship even made it to 61 points with all the airballs, missed FT's and ragged play.
The Badgers have played overs in 8 of the last 10 vs. the ACC. Here are the last four halftime scores for Wisconsin in the Challenge:
NCSU 65 Duke 70 Va Tech 68 Duke 73
Wisconsin has 5 players who average 9.5 ppg or more. Brust, Berggren, Taylor, Gassor and Evans can score as well as others. In their last five games the Badgers have made 13, 8, 13, 9 and 10 3-pointers.
UNC likes to push it and play fast, especially at home in the Dean Dome. They do struggle from the line and don't shoot 3's well but there should be plenty of chances for this to reach 135+ and go over.

Tenn State at UNC 7pm eastern (Nov. 22)
over 145.5 Tennessee State has played some low scoring games this year vs. Western KY, South Carolina and St. Louis. Their final scores have ended with 127, 138, 101 and 108 points. They do have all starters back from last year and are led by Robert Covington at 16.5 ppg. Kenny Moore, Miller, Cyphers and Peters also provide scoring. Let's look at the games that Tenn State played last year and check out the scores:
Memphis 177 (91-86) Belmont 159 (87-72) Air Force 159 (87-72) Eastern Ky 158
UNC has played three games and their game on the ship vs. Michigan State ended with just 122 points scored. Their game at UNC-A ended with 166 points and their last game (only home game so far) made it to 176 (101-75) vs. Miss Valley State. There was no line for their first home game.
UNC should be able to push it at home and get the ball inside to Zeller and Henson and Barnes. Strickland has played well but the Tar Heels have struggled at the line and making 3's but they do have three good offensive players coming off the bench (McAdoo, Hairston and Bullock). Kendall Marshall has struggled with his shot but he is known for his passing. He doesn't get the easy layups and dunks that Felton and Lawson used to get.
Tenn State just won at South Carolina 64-63 so it should get UNC's attention. Tenn State could pack it in and force UNC to shoot from the outside and make plenty of passes before shooting on offense. It does concern me that the teams may play a sloppy game with Thanksgiving only two days away and UNC's next game will be against South Carolina on Friday in Las Vegas.
It should be an interesting game to see if the Tennessee State Tigers can keep it close and keep it under the total but I like our chances for an over.

pick: under 134 This total is anywhere from 133 to 134. Butler has had all week to study VCU and play defense vs. the Ram attack that has been scoring well due to making 3-pointers. They made 12 3's in their last 4 NCAA toruney games, coming from Rodriguez, Burgess, Skeen and Rozzell. Joey Rodriguez has not been shooting as well as the other three players but does have range.
Butler did play in the Fianl Four last year and the two scores reached 102 vs. Michigan State and 120 vs. Duke in the final. The same caoch (Brad Stevens) and players except for Gordon Hayward is still in place. Only Mack and Matt Howard scored 10+ for the Bulldogs this year.
VCU has scored 132 with Kansas, 130 with FSU before OT, 170 with Purdue and 130 with Georgetown. They totaled 105 with USC in the opener.

over 143 Colorado can score, score , score as they averaged 154 points in a typical game with their opponent and only had a few low scoring games such as 124 points with Nebraska, 136 with Baylor and 127 with Oklahoma. They get 11 points or more from Burks, Higgins, Knutson and Relphorde.

Kansas did play some overs with Texas this year and can score in bunches. VCU does have Jamie Skeen inside and the hot shooting of Rozzell and Burgess outside. Joey Rodriguez doesn't turn the ball over much and sets up his teammates but his shooting has been off.

pick: over 125.5 It may be available at 126 but I like the over. This Belmont team has 5 players that shoot close to 50% from the field yet they only average between 8 and 12.5 points a game. Why? Because the team wins their games by an average of 80-61. The most any players is on the court is just 24 minutes per game. Their scoring averagesd would be a little higher if the games were close.
Belmont did play Duke several years ago and only lost by 71-70. They played Tennessee and Vanderbilt this year so they have played some decent teams and did play Kansas last year.
Clark, Hedgepeth, Saunders, Campbell and Johnson are the scorers for Belmont and they all shoot 3's well too as 4 of them are near the 40% range. This will give them some options to score on Thursday.
Wisconsin just lost an ugly 36-33 game to Penn State in the Big Ten tourney but the three games before that reached 158, 144 and 141. The Badgers have played overs in 6 of their last 8 games.
Jon Leuer puts up 18.6 ppg and should score inside while Taylor is at 18 a game. Nankivil is next at 10 points. Their top four scorers all shoot over 80% at the line so they can score late if fouled.

VCU was 11-25 from 3's vs. GMU and will need to get steals and layups to win vs. a tough ODU defense and their rebounding. I guess there is a 10% chance for OT and that would help the over.
They have played OT games before as it was 62-62 (124 points) before an OT sent it over but played an ugly 61-54 gamne in the CAA tourney a few years back.
Rodgiguez, Rozzell and Burgess need to stay hot and make 3's for an over. I think we see close to 129 points and an OVER. Good luck!

OVER 143.5 Miami has played their share of unders but will have a nice chance for an over on Wednesday night facing the Maryland Terps. Maryland just faced UNC and they reached 163 points. Here are the last few games involving Md:
UNC 163 FSU 140 NCSU 167 VT 174 BC 148 Longwood 158 WF 161 Duke 142
Miami gets scoring from their guards and played an 81-71 game vs. Duke for a total of 152 and vs. UNC got to 74-71 (145). They can make 3's and I expect 7 or 8 3-pointers from them on Wednesday night. Jordan Williams, Cliff Tucker and Terrell Stoglin score for Maryland. I think we see a game near 150 that goes over.

Virginia tech has played overs in 7 of 8 home games. They just played Duke at home and played an ugly low scoring game in the 60's that was under by over 15 points. Malcolm Delaney and Jeff Allen should up their scoring tonight vs. a BC team that struggles on defesne. VT did score 102 and 92 in previous home games before Duke. The Eagles get 18 ppg from Reggie Jackson and 14 from Joe Trapani. Look for over tonight!
