10-23-21 | Predators v. Jets -125 | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 20 h 30 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Jets. After losing three straight to start the season, the Jets won big at home versus the Anaheim Ducks by a score of 5-1 in their last game. I expect the positive momentum to carry over here as they host Nashville. The Predators also come in with a record of 1-3, but they are coming off a home loss to the New York Rangers. The Predators are 0-5 in their last five games as a road underdog, and the Jets are 5-1 in their last six games following a win. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
10-22-21 | Oilers v. Golden Knights -130 | 5-3 | Loss | -130 | 24 h 54 m | Show
This is an 8* play on VGK. The Oilers are off to a perfect 4-0 start, but they are due for a let down here on the road in the second game of a back to back. They face a hungry Vegas team that is coming off back to back losses. The Golden Knights are 43-17 in their last 60 home games, and they are 4-1 in their last five home games against the Oilers. Edmonton's starting netminder Mike Smith is on the IR, and that puts pressure on Mikko Koskinen who will likely get the call for the second night in a row. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
10-21-21 | Ducks v. Jets -175 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Jets. The Ducks have started the season hot, while the Jets have been ice cold. This is exactly the opposite of what was projected for these two teams. The Ducks finished dead last in the West Division last year, and they didn't really make any significant roster moves. This looks like a tough spot for an overachieving Anaheim squad. The Ducks are 15-36 in their last 51 games as an underdog, and they are 0-5 in their last five games in Winnipeg. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
10-19-21 | Sharks v. Canadiens -145 | 5-0 | Loss | -145 | 17 h 34 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Montreal. The Habs went all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last year, but they are 0-3 to start the season. A home game against the San Jose Sharks should give them a chance to get back on track. This will be the Sharks first game since announcing a 29 game suspension for Evander Kane. The Sharks have lost six straight on the road, and they are 4-14 in their last 18 overall. The home team is 15-6 in the last 21 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
10-18-21 | Ducks v. Flames -183 | 3-2 | Loss | -183 | 30 h 23 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Calgary. The Ducks are 1-1 after playing their first two games of rthe season at home, now they head out on the road where they will play Calgary on Monday. Anaheim finished dead last in the West last year, and this is basically the same group of players. The Ducks are 1-4 in the last five meetings in Calgary, and the home team is 59-21 in the last 80 meetings. The price isn't cheap, but this is a good spot to back the home favorite. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
10-16-21 | Jets -123 v. Sharks | 3-4 | Loss | -123 | 32 h 37 m | Show
This is an 8* play on WPG. The Jets lost their season opener on the road at The Duck Pond, and they will be a favorite tonight at the Shark Tank. Having already played a game could be an advantage here against the Sharks in their season opener. The Jets are 7-3 in their last 10 games playing on 2 days rest, and they are 4-0 in the last four meetings in San Jose. The Sharks are 17-35 in their last 52 games as an underdog, and they are 3-14 in their last 17 overall. They have lost four of their last five home games. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
10-16-21 | Rangers v. Canadiens -106 | 3-1 | Loss | -106 | 29 h 38 m | Show
This is an 8* play on MTL. The Habs turned in an impressive effort in a 2-1 loss at Toronto to start the season, but their second game at Buffalo was not as competitive. It's still early in the season, but the Habs should be desperate to avoid a third straight loss when they take on New York tonight. The Rangers are 8-17 in the last 25 meetings in Montreal. The Canadiens are 6-2 in their last eight home games, and they are 10-4 in their last 14 games playing on 1 days rest. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
10-14-21 | Canadiens -130 v. Sabres | 1-5 | Loss | -130 | 19 h 33 m | Show
This is an 8* play on MTL. The Habs lost last night in Toronto, but they turned in an incredible effort. They came out flying, scoring the game's first goal. They had a slight edge in shots on goal, and they had a 34-12 edge in total hits. Normally playing the second game of a back to back is a disadvantage, but this early in the season it's not a bad thing to have a game under their belt. They will face a Sabres team that might be the worst in the NHL. The Sabres are 8-20 in their last 28 home games, and they are 7-20 in their last 27 games as a home underdog. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
10-13-21 | Canadiens v. Maple Leafs -170 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 25 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. The Maple Leafs are under a microscope this season, and nothing less than a Stanley Cup will satisfy their fan base, the media and the organization. They looked like a legitimate contender last year, but an early exit from the playoffs at the hands of rivals Montreal was a bitter pill to swallow. They have an opportunity to exorcise their demons here in a massive revenge game in their season opener. This won't be the same Montreal team that they faced in the playoffs. Carey Price and Shea Weber won't be in the lineup when the Habs take the ice in Toronto. These teams met three times in the pre-season, and the Leafs won two of those three games. The favorite is 26-12 in the last 38 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
07-05-21 | Lightning v. Canadiens +149 | 2-3 | Win | 149 | 18 h 12 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Montreal. After watching the first three games of this series, it seems pretty clear that Tampa is the better team. Then again, they probably said that about the San Jose Sharks when they had a 3-0 series lead versus LA in the first round in 2014. The Kings went on to beat the Sharks and win the Stanley Cup that year. While that was the last time we saw a team come back from a 3-0 series deficit, you have to go even further back to find the last time a team was swept in the Stanley Cup Finals. The last team to win 4-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals was Detroit in 1998. I'm not ready to call for another epic comeback, but I do think that the Habs are more than capable of extending this series and forcing it back to Tampa for Game 5. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
07-02-21 | Lightning v. Canadiens +119 | 6-3 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 20 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Montreal. The Habs were outscored 8-2 in the first two games of this series, but it hasn't been as one-sided as it seems. They dominated Game 2, especially in the second period. One mistake with two seconds left on the clock resulted in Tampa scoring the game winning goal with 0.3 seconds left in the period. They had a 43-23 advantage in shots on goal, but at the end of the day Andrei Vasilevsky was better than Carey Price. If Montreal plays the way they did in Game 2, they will be hard to beat on home ice. It feels like all the luck has been with the lightning in the first two games, but if things start bouncing in favor of Montreal this series could change in a hurry. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-25-21 | Islanders v. Lightning -160 | Top | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 30 h 44 m | Show |
This is a 5* play on the TB Lightning. The Lightning had a 2-0 lead in an elimination game in New York in Game 6, but the Islanders battled back to force a Game 7. Tampa hasn't lost back to back games in these playoffs, and they appear destined to prevail in Game 7, giving them a chance at repeating as Stanley Cup Champions. The Islanders are 4-10 in the last 14 meetings in Tampa Bay, and the Lightning are 47-19 in their last 66 home games. The officiating has been well below average in the 2021 playoffs, and the missed call favored the home team in Game 6. Nikita Kucherov suffered a serious injury from a crosscheck that went unpunished. As much as the Bolts will miss Kucherov, they have plenty of depth on offense. If the officials are going to be biased here, I expect that it would once again favor the home team. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-24-21 | Golden Knights v. Canadiens +130 | 2-3 | Win | 130 | 25 h 17 m | Show
This is a 5* play on MTL. I liked Montreal as the underdog in this series from the beginning, and after earning a split in Vegas, I have decided to double down. "The Golden Knights are a huge favorite in the Stanley Cup semifinals, but they face a Montreal team that has won it's last seven games. Carey Price is more than capable of stealing a game or two in this series, and the squad in front of him has been outplaying the opposition throughout the playoffs. If you don't think this series is going to be close, just look at the history between these teams. The Habs have won five of the six meetings all time, and all five of those wins came in games decided by one goal." GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-21-21 | Islanders v. Lightning -182 | 0-8 | Win | 100 | 19 h 1 m | Show
This is a 5* play on TB. The Lightning return home with the series tied 2-2, and they are a big favorite in Game 5. The Islanders lost Game 2 in Tampa by a score of 4-2, and I expect a similar result here tonight. The Islanders are 4-9 in the last 13 meetings in Tampa Bay, and they are 8-18 in the last 26 meetings. The Lightning are 45-19 in their last 64 games as a home favorite. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-15-21 | Islanders v. Lightning -195 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 21 h 37 m | Show
This is a 5* play on TB. I love the Isles, and I've cashed in on a few bets on NYI as an underdog in these playoffs. I'm not going to bet on them taking a commanding 2-0 series lead here on the road against the reigning champs. By hook or by crook, I expect Tampa to even the series at 1-1 heading back to Long Island. The Lightning are 10-4 in their last 14 playoff games as a favorite, and they are 8-3 in their last 11 home games versus the Isles. Prior to losing Game 1 of this series, they had lost three times in these playoffs. They bounced back with a win in all three of those situations, and expect that to be the case here in Game 2. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-07-21 | Jets v. Canadiens -150 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 19 h 15 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Montreal. I had the Habs in Game 2, and here is what I said before the game: "The Habs dominated Game 1 of this series, and much of the credit will go to Carey Price who stopped 27-of-30 shots. Price is the best goaltender in the world, and he did steal a few games in the series versus Toronto. A convincing win for Montreal was overshadowed by an injury to rookie Jake Evans, which resulted in a suspension for Mark Scheifele. The Jets could have a hard time replacing their leading scorer. The Jets are 0-6 in their last six playoff games as a favorite, while the Habs have won four straight as an underdog. I think the bookmakers have the wrong team favored here in Game 2." No Schiefele, no answer for Carey Price, the Jets have no hope heading into Game 4. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-06-21 | Jets v. Canadiens -136 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 40 h 1 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Montreal. I think the bookmakers have the wrong team favored here in Game 2." GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
05-26-21 | Golden Knights -123 v. Wild | 0-3 | Loss | -123 | 9 h 58 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the VGK. Vegas dominated play in Game 1 of this series, but managed to lose 1-0 in overtime. The Knights then won the next three games, all in blowout fashion. They failed to close out the Wild in Game 5, but they should take care of business here in Game 6. The Golden Knights are 19-7 in their last 26 road games, and they are 40-14 in their last 54 games as a favorite. The Wild are 11-27 in their last 38 playoff games as an underdog, and they just don't match up well against Vegas. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
05-18-21 | Wild v. Golden Knights -159 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 21 h 13 m | Show
This is an 8* play on VGK. The Golden Knights were on the wrong side of a low scoring Game 1, that was scoreless in regulation. They looked like the better team, but failed to take advantage of their chances. They dominated shots on goal, faceoffs, and they had more power play opportunities. Expect Vegas to come out flying in Game 2, with a far greater sense of urgency. The Wild are 4-10 in their last 14 playoff games as an underdog. Minnesota is likely to struggle to match the Knights here in a must win game for Vegas. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
05-16-21 | Lightning -115 v. Panthers | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 21 m | Show
This is an 8* play on TB. The defending champs will open the playoffs on the road in Florida, but they will be the favorite in this game. The Panthers are 3-7 in their last 10 games as a home underdog, and they have lost six of their last seven playoff games as an underdog. Steven Stamkos and Victor Hedman are expected to play in Game 1 despite missing time with injuries at the end of the regular season. Stamkos scored 17 goals and 17 assists in 38 games during the regular season, but when healthy he's still one of the league's most dangerous scorers. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
05-16-21 | Islanders v. Penguins -134 | 4-3 | Loss | -134 | 2 h 28 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Penguins. The Islanders have faded down the stretch, losing seven of their final 10 games of the regular season. They face the Penguins on the road in Game 1 of a first round series on Sunday, and the home team has won five of the last six head to head meetings. The Islanders are 16-36-2 in the last 54 meetings in Pittsburgh, and the Penguins have won six of the last seven meetings overall. The Penguins are 40-13 in their last 53 games as a home favorite, and Sidney Crosby is still one of the best players in the NHL. He quietly finished 10th in the league in scoring, but appears to be primed for a big post-season. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
05-03-21 | Jets -145 v. Senators | 1-2 | Loss | -145 | 8 h 53 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets are a playoff team, but they are desperate to gain a bit of momentum heading into the post-season. They come into Ottawa as losers of six straight, and they are really in need of a "get right game". The last place Senators have been quite competitive despite their poor overall record, so they can not be taken lightly. I still can't see Ottawa matching the intensity of a team like Winnipeg in such a desperate spot. The Jets are 8-3 in their last 11 road games, and they are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings against the Sens. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
05-01-21 | Flames v. Oilers -124 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 23 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Edmonton. The Flames kept their playoff hopes alive with a 3-1 win at Edmonton on Friday, but they face another must win game versus the Oilers tonight. Unfortunately for Calgary, the Oilers would love nothing more than to eliminate their rivals from playoff contention. This is a revenge spot for the Oilers, and there is no doubt that Edmonton is the better team. The Flames are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings in Edmonton, and the Oilers are 8-2 in their last 10 home games. Edmonton is 21-7 in their last 28 games as a favorite. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
04-14-21 | Ducks v. Sharks -168 | 4-1 | Loss | -168 | 19 h 29 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Sharks. The Sharks are coming off a loss to the Ducks, and here is what I said prior to that game: "San Jose is one of the hottest teams in the league right now, coming into tonight's home game against the Ducks as winners of four straight, while the Ducks are losers of three in a row. Anaheim has a firm grip on last place in the West Division, and the Ducks are 3-8 in their last 11 road games. The Ducks rank 29th in the NHL in scoring, and their power play has been brutal, converting on just over 10 percent of their man advantage opportunities. Martin Jones might be the Sharks best player this season, and he's been particularly good lately. He is 6-3-1 with a 2.69 GAA at home this season. He's 3-0 with a 2.27 GAA in three starts against the Ducks." Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
04-12-21 | Ducks v. Sharks -190 | 4-0 | Loss | -190 | 20 h 31 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Sharks. The Sharks lost to the Ducks last week, and here is what I said prior to that game: "San Jose is one of the hottest teams in the league right now, coming into tonight's home game against the Ducks as winners of four straight, while the Ducks are losers of three in a row. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
04-11-21 | Stars v. Predators -104 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 17 h 26 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Nashville. The Predators are 11-3 in their last 14 overall, coming off a home loss to Tampa on Saturday. Pekka Rinne got the start versus the Lightning, and was named the 3rd star of the game after stopping 31-of-33 shots. In this second game of a back to back, we might expect Juuse Saros to get the start tonight, and he is 9-2 with a 1.79 GAA in 13 home starts. The Stars won at home against Florida on Saturday, and they are 1-6 in their last seven when playing the second game of a back to back. They are 2-9 in their last 11 games following a win. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
04-10-21 | Oilers -108 v. Flames | 0-5 | Loss | -108 | 19 h 16 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Oilers. The Battle of Alberta is still one of the NHL's most heated rivalries, so we should expect both these teams to be at their best in Calagary tonight. We have plenty of evidence that suggests Edmonton's "best" is far better than the Flames. The Oilers are 17 points up in the standings, just a few points out of first place in the North. The Flames are struggling to even compete for a playoff spot, and you have to wonder if they are close to throwing in the towel as far as the 2021 season. Edmonton is 5-1 in the last six head to head meetings, and you have to like them as a pickem here. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
04-09-21 | Rangers v. Islanders -121 | 4-1 | Loss | -121 | 17 h 1 m | Show
8* |
|||||||
04-06-21 | Ducks v. Sharks -170 | 5-1 | Loss | -170 | 13 h 44 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Sharks. San Jose is one of the hottest teams in the league right now, coming into tonight's home game against the Ducks as winners of four straight, while the Ducks are losers of three in a row. He's 3-0 with a 2.27 GAA in three starts against the Ducks. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
04-05-21 | Senators v. Jets -190 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 18 h 9 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the JETS. The Sens are coming off a big win in Montreal, which only sets them up for a let down here in Winnipeg. The Senators are 12-41 in their last 53 games as a road underdog, while the Jets are 15-6 in their last 21 games as a home favorite. The Jets are coming off back to back losses, but remain tied for second place in the North Division. The home team has a lot more to play for here, and should come out firing on all cylinders. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
04-01-21 | Canadiens -193 v. Senators | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 21 h 43 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Habs. The Senators have shown that they can be competitive at times, but they are still sitting in last place in the North Division. There is no reason to expect that to change, and a home game against Montreal is not going to be an easy spot to earn a positive result. The Canadiens are 14-6 in the last 20 meetings, and Carey Price is coming off his first shutout of the season. The Senators are 24-54 in their last 78 games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
03-24-21 | Jets -130 v. Canucks | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 18 h 39 m | Show
This is an 8* play on WPG. The Jets are coming off a 4-0 win at Vancouver, and Vezina winner Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 22 shots he faced in his first shutout of the season. Backup goaltender Laurent Brossoit is 2-0 with a 1.00 GAA in two starts versus Vancouver this season. That means that whoever starts in goal for Winnipeg will have dominated the Canucks this season. The Jets are 11-3 in their last 14 games as a favorite, and they are 19-7 in their last 26 versus the Canucks. They have won seven straight in Vancouver. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
03-06-21 | Jets v. Canadiens -136 | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 16 h 3 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Montreal. The Habs have lost six of their last seven overall, a slump that cost their head coach his job. They earned a point in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets on Thursday, and they will be desperate to earn two points in tonight's game. Montreal battled back from an early 2-0 deficit, and they out-shot Winnipeg 36-27 on Thursday night. Winnipeg might be due for a let down after beating the Habs three times in a row. While the Habs don't have an impressive record at home this season, Montreal is still a tough place to play for visiting teams. That's especially true on a Saturday night in a nationally televised game . GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
03-02-21 | Hurricanes v. Predators +108 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 22 h 24 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Nashville. If you are going to bet on the Predators, you want to bet on them when they are at home. They host Carolina tonight, and they are catching the Canes playing the second game of a back to back coming off an OT win in Florida. The Predators have won four of their last five overall, and they are 7-4 overall at home. The Canes come in as the favorite, but the underdog is 5-1 in the last six head to head meetings. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-20-21 | Panthers v. Red Wings +152 | 1-2 | Win | 152 | 21 h 51 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Red Wings +1.5. At first glance, you might think that the 4-11-3 Red Wings would be a terrible team to bet on this year. That hasn't been the case if you are taking them on the puckline. They are 11-7 ATS so far, losing seven games by just one goal. They have played Florida four times, losing three of four games. All three of those losses came by one goal. As poorly as Detroit has played, their goaltenders have actually been pretty good. All three of their netminders have a GAA below .300, while Florida's starter Sergei Bobrovsky has a GAA of 3.33. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-15-21 | Panthers v. Lightning -161 | 6-4 | Loss | -161 | 25 h 4 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Tampa. I bet on the Lightning on Saturday night, and their win in Florida makes it 10-1 in their last 11 versus the Panthers. You don't have to be good at math to see that a price of -160 is awful cheap for a home favorite that has won 10-of-11 against an inferior opponent. Here is what I said Saturday: "The defending champs lost 5-2 at Florida on Thursday, but they had won nine straight versus the Panthers prior to that defeat. They have an overall record of 9-2-1, and they rank second in the league in both goals scored and goals against. I wouldn't bet on Tampa losing back to back games here in Florida. The Panthers are also off to an incredible start, but this early in the season it's tough to put too much stock in their 8-1-2 record." GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-13-21 | Lightning -140 v. Panthers | 6-1 | Win | 100 | 20 h 22 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Tampa. The defending champs lost 5-2 at Florida on Thursday, but they had won nine straight versus the Panthers prior to that defeat. They have an overall record of 9-2-1, and they rank second in the league in both goals scored and goals against. I wouldn't bet on Tampa losing back to back games here in Florida. The Panthers are also off to an incredible start, but this early in the season it's tough to put too much stock in their 8-1-2 record. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-11-21 | Red Wings v. Predators -180 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 20 h 37 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Nashville. The Predators have lost five of six overall, but four of those five losses have come against defending champions Tampa Bay. They are back at home to face the Detroit Red Wings, and this is a very winnable game for a desperate team. The Red Wings are 10-44 in their last 54 games as a road underdog. The Predators have won five straight as a home favorite, and they should fight hard tonight in a must win game. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-05-21 | Predators v. Panthers -113 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 17 h 28 m | Show
This is an 8* play on FLA. The Panthers haven't lost in regulation in eight games, but they fell in Game 1 at home against Nashville by a score of 6-5 in overtime. They are just a slight favorite in a revenge game on Friday, and I don't think the Predators are likely to get back to back road wins. The Predators are 1-6 in their last seven road games, and they have lost four of their last five versus Florida. The Panthers are 8-3 in their last 11 games playing on 0 days rest. GL, Jesse Schule |

01-30-21 | Canucks v. Jets -129 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -129 | 43 h 38 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Winnipeg. The Canucks head to Winnipeg off a six game home stand. They are 5-5 overall and four of their five wins came against teams with a losing record. They have lost three of four road games so far, and they are 1-10 in their last 11 games in Winnipeg. They are just 2-14 in the last 16 head to head meetings. The Jets are a strong home team, they are 13-3 in their last 16 games as a home favorite. The Jets are 16-5 in their last 21 games as a favorite. I'll take the short price on the home favorite given the history. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
01-28-21 | Ducks v. Coyotes -132 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 22 h 10 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Coyotes. The Ducks have three wins this season, and two of those wins came by a score of 1-0. Scoring goals has been a problem for Anaheim, and relying on goaltender Jon Gibson to get a shutout in order to give them a chance to win isn't going to be sustainable. The Ducks are one of the worst in the NHL, averaging just 1.71 goals per game. The Coyotes stats may be skewed by plauying four consecutive games against the Vegas Golden Knights. They were highly competitive in all four of those games though, despite losing three of the four. I like their chances of winning this revenge game against the Ducks. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
01-26-21 | Oilers v. Jets +104 | 4-6 | Win | 104 | 20 h 15 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Jets. I bet on the Jets in their last game against Ottawa, and I can't pass up on betting Winnipeg as a home dog versus the Oilers. Here is what I said prior to their win over the Jets: "The Jets are coming off back to back wins in Ottawa, and they return home for a third consecutive game against the Senators. The Sens have struggled against the Jets dating back the last few years. The Jets have won eight of the last 10 head to head meetings. The Senators are 11-40 in their last 51 games as a road underdog, and they have lost six straight in the second game of a home and home series. Connor Hellebuyck is the reigning Vezina winner, and he looked sharp in a 4-1 win over the Senators in his last start. He is expected to be back between the pipes Saturday." GL, Jesse Schule |

01-22-21 | Oilers v. Maple Leafs -136 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 20 h 33 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Toronto. I had the Leafs in the first game of this series, and the Oilers pulled off the upset. I'll back the Leafs here in this revenge spot tonight. Here is what I said prior to Game 1: "The Maple Leafs are the favorite to win the North Division, and they have won three of their first four games. They host Edmonton tonight, and the Oilers have lost three of four. Toronto has won four of it's last five versus the Oilers, and the Maple Leafs are 5-2 in their last seven home games. The Oilers have lost five of their last six overall, and they are 1-7 in their last eight at Toronto." GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
01-20-21 | Oilers v. Maple Leafs -144 | 3-1 | Loss | -144 | 17 h 12 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Toronto. The Maple Leafs are the favorite to win the North Division, and they have won three of their first four games. They host Edmonton tonight, and the Oilers have lost three of four. Toronto has won four of it's last five versus the Oilers, and the Maple Leafs are 5-2 in their last seven home games. 01-18-21 | Sharks v. Blues -175 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 19 h 14 m | Show
This is a 6* play on the Blues. St. Louis won their season opener at Colorado, but they were blown out by a score of 8-0 in their second game against the Avs. They won't like the stink of that embarrassing loss, and that will add a little extra motivation to beat up on an inferior San Jose team. The Sharks are 1-6 in their last seven road games, and they are 17-35 in their last 52 games as an underdog. The Sharks are 3-9 in their last 12 games playing on 1 days rest, and they have lost five straight against the Blues. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
01-14-21 | Flames v. Jets +106 | 3-4 | Win | 106 | 11 h 26 m | Show
This is a 5* play on WPG. The Jets will play their season opener against the Calgary Flames, and this sets up a revenge spot versus the team that eliminated them from last year's playoffs. The Jets were decimated by injuries in that series, but they come into this game at full strength. The Jets are 6-2 in their last eight home games, and the home team is 13-6 in the last 19 meetings. In their last full season in the league, the Jets owned the third best home record in the NHL. I'll back Winnipeg as a home underdog. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
09-04-20 | Stars v. Avalanche -133 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -133 | 28 h 2 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Colorado. The Avs entered this series as roughly a 2-1 favorite, but Dallas looked like the better team winning three of the first four games. Goaltending has played a key role in this series, and after losing their starter, Colorado's second string netminder struggled. Michael Hutchison is the third string goalie, a 30 year old veteran with experience playing for Toronto and Columbus. His play has turned this series on it's head, and now the Stars are on the ropes. The top line of Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and Alexander Radulov have tallied just one point in the last two games. I like Colorado to complete the comeback. Take COL. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-31-20 | Bruins v. Lightning -113 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show
This is a 5* play on TB. The Lightning fell behind by a score of 3-0 early in Game 1, but it's been all Tampa ever since. History favors the Lightning, as the Bruins are 3-11 in the last 14 meetings. "When you shrink the game to 40 minutes, it's going to be tough on you," coach Jon Cooper said. "I liked a lot of the way our game progressed, but if we're not going to manage the puck the way we did for much of the Columbus series, it'll be tough for us. You can't start games the way we did. It put us on our heels and shortened the game." These teams met in the playoffs two years ago, and Boston won Game 1 of that series. The Lightning went on to win four straight winning the series in five games. Take TB. GL, Jesse Schule |

08-29-20 | Lightning -110 v. Bruins | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 21 h 35 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on TB. The Lightning fell behind by a score of 3-0 early in Game 1, and then they dominated the rest of the game. Their rally fell short, losing by a score of 3-2. 08-19-20 | Canucks v. Blues -137 | 4-3 | Loss | -137 | 7 h 10 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the St. Louis Blues. The defending champs were down 2-0 in this series, and it really looked like this young Vancouver team was poised to record a first round upset. The Blues made a change between the pipes, and Jake Allen has come in and won back to back games. Now the Blues have all the momentum heading into Game 5, and they are just a small favorite. The Blues are 11-5 in their last 16 Conference Quarterfinals games, and the price seems a little low here in a pivotal game for a defending Stanley Cup Championship squad. Take STL. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-16-20 | Golden Knights -169 v. Blackhawks | 1-3 | Loss | -169 | 11 h 13 m | Show
This is a 7* play on the Vegas Golden Knights. Down 3-0 in the series, the Blackhawks could be a defeated team heading into Game 4. That's especially true for players that have been kept in a bubble, away from their families and friends. Bubble life was so bad for the Bruins starting goaltender, he up and quit in the middle of their series versus Carolina. Vegas is a team with a real shot at winning the Stanley Cup, and Chicago is a team ready for the golf course. Vegas has won nine of 10 head to head versus Chicago, and I like them to complete the sweep on Sunday. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-12-20 | Coyotes v. Avalanche -170 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 51 h 50 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Colorado Avalanche. The Avs shocked the hockey world in last year's playoffs, upsetting the #1 ranked Calgary Flames in the first round. They went on to lose in the second round to the vetern San Jose Sharks. This playoff experience will be invaluable for the likes of Nathan McKinnon and Cale Makar. Colorado is younger, faster and far more talented than the Arizona Coyotes. "Obviously you can see their skill," Coyotes center Derek Stepan said. "They have it throughout their entire lineup, but they defend extremely hard, too. They've got shot blockers. We've certainly got our hands full. This is one of the best teams in the NHL, so we better be ready to play." The Coyotes are 3-8 in their last 11 games following a win, while the Avs are 11-4 in their last 15 overall. Take COL. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-11-20 | Flames +100 v. Stars | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 27 h 1 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Calgary Flames. The Flames looked impressive in a play in series against a very tough Winnipeg team. Cam Talbot stood tall, stopping all 31 shots he faced in Game 4. Calgary was ousted in the first round as a #1 seed last year, and they have plenty to prove here against Dallas. The Stars come into this series as losers of eight of their last nine overall. It's hard to believe they can just flip a switch here in this series. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-06-20 | Flames -155 v. Jets | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 36 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Calgary Flames. The Flames will try to eliminate a banged up Jets team tonight, and I am expecting goals to be hard to come by. Here is what I said prior to Game 3: "The Jets lost Game 1 of this series 4-1, but they battled back to even the series with a 3-2 win in Game 2 yesterday. It was an impressive effort considering that their two most dangerous offensive players were out with injury. Both Patrick Laine and Mark Scheiffle are questionable to play in Game 3. Winnipeg knows they will need to muddy it up, and play a close, tight checking game to have any chance. These two teams have gone under in five straight head to head meetings, and the under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings." It's going to be quite difficult for Winnipeg to overcome all the injuries. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule |

08-05-20 | Oilers -130 v. Blackhawks | 3-4 | Loss | -130 | 21 h 24 m | Show
This is an 8* play on EDM. I had the Oilers in Game 2, and here is what I said prior to the game: "Chicago is still a talented team that can't be taken lightly. The Oilers didn't look ready in Game 1, falling behind 4-1 after the first period. They dominated the game after that point, but still came up short. Mike Smith was pulled after allowing five goals on 23 shots, but Mikko Koskinen came in and stopped 18-of-19 shots in relief. A change between the pipes could put the Oilers in a better position to even the series with a win in Game 2." Koskinen came in and outplayed his counterpart, and the Oilers are in great shape heading into a pivotal Game 3. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule |

08-05-20 | Predators -128 v. Coyotes | 1-4 | Loss | -128 | 14 h 18 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Nashville. I had the Predators in Game 2, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Predators were trailing 3-0 before they even realized what happened in Game 1, but they battled back and ended up losing 4-3. The opening goal was quite the fluke, a shot that deflected off not 1, but two defensemen before sailing over the shoulder of the goaltender. You could chalk up the loss to bad puck luck, and I still believe the Preds are the better team. The Coyotes are 5-12 in their last 17 games as an underdog, and they are 2-7 in their last niune games following a win." Nashville has been by far the better team in this series, and I'll back them once again in Game 3. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-04-20 | Wild v. Canucks +200 | 3-4 | Win | 200 | 14 h 40 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Vancouver Canucks. The Wild won Game 1 by a score of 3-0, but I like the Canucks chances of tying the series with a win in Game 2. The biggest advantage for Vancouver in this series is their goaltending, but in Game 1 Alex Stalock stopped all 28 shots he faced, and Jakub Markstrom let in a pair of bad goals. I count on Markstrom to be better, and his teammates making life difficult for Stalock. The majority of the time the team with better goaltending and better special teams wins the series, so I still give the edge to the Canucks. Take VAN. GL, Jesse Schule |

08-04-20 | Coyotes v. Predators -125 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show

08-01-20 | Canadiens v. Penguins -125 | 3-2 | Loss | -125 | 343 h 30 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Montreal Canadiens have been rumored to be more motivated by a chance to get the #1 overall draft pick than they are to actually compete here in these playoffs. An early exit would give them an opportunity to pick French Canadian forward Alexis Lafreniere. While it's only a rumor, it has been supported by mainstream media personalities such as Elliotte Friedman. They don't match up well against Pittsburgh at the best of times, and really their only hope would be if Carey Price could carry the team on his back. It's been years since we've seen that kind of play from the Habs #1 goalie. I like Sid and the Pens here to sweep this qualifying series. Take PIT. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
03-10-20 | Predators -108 v. Canadiens | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 18 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Nashville Predators. The Habs have played hard lately, but injuries have taken their toll. Despite their best efforts, they are due to miss the playoffs once again in 2020. The Predators still have a lot of work to do if they hope to reach the post-season, but they are on the right track. They are coming off back to back shutout wins over Dallas in a home and home series. The Habs have lost back to back games by a combined score of 8-1 in Florida versus the Panthers and the Lightning. Leading scorer Thomas Tatar didn't play in either of those games, and his status remains in question. It's all a little too little too late for Montreal. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
03-09-20 | Coyotes v. Jets -118 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 14 h 54 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Winnipeg Jets. I had the Jets in a recent home game against Buffalo and they came through for me. Here is what I said prior to their win over the Sabres: "The Buffalo Sabres will play their fourth game on this current road trip, looking to end a three game losing streak. It won't come easy in Winnipeg, where the Jets have won three straight. The Sabres are 5-13 in the last 18 meetings in Winnipeg, and they have lost six of their last seven versus Western Conference teams. This is a must win game for the Jets who are involved in a crowded race for the final playoff spot in the West. This is also a revenge game after losing 2-1 at Buffalo in the last head to head meeting. " A home game against Arizona in a similar spot, and I expect a similar result. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
03-07-20 | Devils v. Rangers -183 | 6-4 | Loss | -183 | 19 h 58 m | Show
This is a 7* play on the New York Rangers. The Rangers are back in the hunt for a playoff spot after winning six of their last nine overall. They are two points back of the eighth place New York Islanders heading into Saturday's home game versus New Jersey. The Devils are coming off a home win over St. Louis on Friday, setting them up for a let down here in the second game of a back to back. They have lost four in a row at MSG, and the home team is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. The Devils are 17-37 in their last 54 games following a win. Take NYR. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
03-07-20 | Sabres v. Flyers -220 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 19 h 57 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Philly. The Flyers have won eight straight, and they are hosting a Buffalo Sabres team that has lost five straight. The Sabres are a woeful 0-for-13 on the power play over their last six games. They face a Flyers team that boasts the best home record in the NHL (24-5-4). The home team is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between these teams, and the Sabres have lost five in a row in the City of Brotherly Love. Take PHI. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
03-06-20 | Blackhawks -170 v. Red Wings | 1-2 | Loss | -170 | 14 h 34 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Chicago Blackhawks. Every year we see a struggling team pull themselves from the bottom of the trash heap and sneak into the playoffs, and sometimes those teams go all the way. Just ask the St. Louis Blues who did it last year, or the LA Kings who did it less than a decade ago. The Blackhawks are hoping that they can rally for their own Cinderella Story this season, and they have more than share of playoff experience. Chicago brings a four game winning streak into the Motor City, and Patrick Kane scored his 30th goal in his last game. "It's a good number," he said. "Throughout the season, you start thinking about those numbers, whether it's 20 or 30. Obviously, you want to get even more than that. I think we've got 15 games left here, so (let's) finish strong. I think if I finish strong and do my part, we might have a good chance to get in." Take CHI. GL, Jesse Schule |

03-01-20 | Devils v. Ducks -140 | 3-0 | Loss | -140 | 10 h 23 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Anaheim Ducks. Neither the Devils or the Ducks will be playing in the playoffs this year, but the Ducks have reason to be upbeat heading into Sunday's home game against New Jersey. They are coming off back to back wins over Edmonton and Pittsburgh, while the Devils are coming off a loss in LA yesterday. "The new guys are really buying into the system we want to play," said Ducks defender Brendan Guhle, who scored his first career game-winning goal and third goal of the season Friday. "We want to get pucks deep and play a hard-nosed game, win battles and capitalize on our chances. Sonny had two goals the other night, Danton scored tonight, so it's huge for us." The Ducks are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings and they have won four straight home games against the Devils. Take ANA. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-29-20 | Red Wings v. Senators -160 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 10 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Ottawa Senators. Both Detroit and Ottawa will miss the playoffs this season, but there is a lot more optimism in Ottawa than there is in the Motor City. The Red Wings are coming off a 7-1 home loss to Minnesota, and they have been out-scored by a combined 19-5 in their last four games. They have lost eight of nine, and they are 5-26-2 on the road. The Senators might miss the playoffs, but they have been quite competitive at home (16-13-6). They are coming off a 5-2 home win over Vancouver, and Bobby Ryan scored a hat trick in his first game back. Ryan and the Sens should be all fired up again tonight. Take OTT. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-27-20 | Devils v. Sharks -133 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 21 h 55 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the San Jose Sharks. The New Jersey Devils come into San Jose as winners of three straight, including a 2-1 home victory over the Sharks. They beat the league worst Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Tuesday, and Corey Schneider picked up his first win of the season. Schneider is now 1-6-1 with a 4.61 GAA in eight starts, and any confidence gained would be lost if he lets in an early goal in his next start. This sets up for a let down spot for the Devils as they travel across the country for a very meaningless game against the Sharks. For San Jose they are looking to snap a four game losing skid, and team leader Logan Couture will be playing in his second game back since recovering from an ankle injury. The Devils are just 4-10 in their last 14 versus the Sharks, and the home team has won four straight in the series. Take SJS. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-25-20 | Sharks v. Flyers -212 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 16 h 36 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Philly Flyers. After yesterday's trade deadline, certain teams will simply be playing out the remainder of the season with nothing to gain by winning games. One of those teams is the San Jose Sharks. Their head coach made that crystal clear with his recent comments: "With the personnel that we have in there right now, we have to almost play a perfect or a near-to-perfect game when you're only scoring one or two a night," Sharks interim head coach Bob Boughner said. "It's not for a lack of effort, it's not for a lack of compete, it's not for a lack of chances." The Flyers are 21-5-4 at home, and they are gunning for a fourth straight win. Take PHI. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-23-20 | Oilers -135 v. Kings | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 15 h 36 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Edmonton Oilers. The Kings have lost two of three since trading their leading scorer to the Vancouver Canucks. Tonight they will play their second game of a back to back at home against the Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton has gone 3-2-1 without their leading scorer Connor McDavid, but he is expected to return to the lineup soon. The Oilers are just three points back of division leaders Las Vegas, but they are only three points up on ninth place Nashville. They find themselves (like most teams in the Western Conference) on the playoff bubble. With or without McDavid, this is a game that Edmonton desperately needs to win, and they couldn't ask for a more suitable opponent. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-18-20 | Kings v. Jets -155 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 13 h 35 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Winnipeg Jets. I had the Jets in their last game, a home win over Chicago. Here is what I said prior to the opening face off: "The Jets are 8-3 in their last 11 games as a home favorite, while the Blackhawks are 1-5 in their last six games as an underdog. With Chicago playing their fifth straight road game, and Winnipeg on the playoff bubble, we should expect the Jets to want this game more than the visitors." The Kings come to town without their leading scorer Tyler Toffoli, who has just been traded to Vancouver. This is LA waving the white flag, and the remainder of this season will be focused on rebuilding for the future (tanking). Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule |

|||||||
02-14-20 | Sharks v. Jets -143 | 3-2 | Loss | -143 | 16 h 14 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Winnipeg Jets. After winning four of their last six games, the Winnipeg Jets are still one point back of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They host the San Jose Sharks tonight, and San Jose is no longer in the hunt for the playoffs. Injuries have taken their toll on San Jose, with Brent Burns playing hurt, while Thomas Hertl and Logan Couture are done for the season. The Sharks are 4-10 in their last 14 road games, and they are 6-15 in their last 21 games as an underdog. The Jets are 8-2 in their last 10 games as a home favorite. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule |

02-13-20 | Rangers v. Wild -134 | 4-3 | Loss | -134 | 23 h 58 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Minnesota Wild. The Wild are just a point back of the eighth and final playoff spot in the West, and they come into tonight's home game against the Rangers as winners of four of their last five overall. Minnesota is one of the best home teams in the NHL, and a win here against the Rangers would have them tied for the most home wins in the Western Conference. The Rangers have struggled against the Wild, losing four of the last five meetings. They have also struggled against Western Conference teams, losing 23 of their last 34. The Wild are 13-6 in their last 19 games as a home favorite. Take MIN. GL, Jesse Schule |

02-09-20 | Blackhawks v. Jets -121 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 23 h 27 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets are right back in the playoff hunt after winning three of their last four. Patrick Laine scored a hat trick in a 5-2 win over the Senators yesterday, and that's good news for Winnipeg as they get set to host the Hawks. Chicago is also in the hunt for the playoffs, trailing Winnipeg by just three points with a couple of games in hand. The Blackhawks are 2-6 in the last eight meetings, and they are 1-4 in the last five meetings in Winnipeg. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-08-20 | Senators v. Jets -170 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 50 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg is currently on the outside looking in, sitting a point back of Calgary for the final playoff spot in the West. A home game against the struggling Ottawa Senators is a must win game for the Jets. The Sens have just two wins in their last 16 overall, while the Jets have won two of three heading into today's game. The Jets are 6-1 in their last seven games as a home favorite. The Senators are 16-50 in their last 66 road games. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-06-20 | Sharks v. Oilers -161 | 6-3 | Loss | -161 | 15 h 10 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers suffered a let down in their first game following a big road win at Calgary in the Battle of Alberta. They should get back on track here at home versus San Jose, a team that is no longer in the hunt for the playoffs. The Sharks won two nights ago in Calgary, but a sweep here in Alberta isn't going to be easy. San Jose is banged up, losing several star players to injuries. The Sharks have lost five of their last six road games, and they are 7-19 in their last 26 games as a road underdog. Edmonton has won four of five at home, and seven of their last 10 overall. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-04-20 | Sharks v. Flames -170 | 3-1 | Loss | -170 | 27 h 0 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Calgary Flames. Coming off an embarrassing home loss to bitter rivals Edmonton, the Flames are badly in need of a get right game. They couldn't have asked for a better opponent, with their next game coming against the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks are indeed an endangered species, sitting 11 points out of the final playoff spot in the West. They could be without their three best players, as Brent Burns is battling a shoulder injury, and Logan Couture and Thomas Hertl are both sidelined with serious injuries. The home team is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings, and the Sharks are 0-5 in their last five road games. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule |

02-04-20 | Canadiens -131 v. Devils | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 25 h 59 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Montreal Canadiens. I had Montreal on Saturday, and they won 4-0 at home versus Florida. Here is what I said before the game: "The Habs are still a long way's back of the final playoff spot in the East, but after what the Blues did last year nobody is going to count them out. They come into Saturday's home game against Florida as winners of five of their last seven, and veteran goalie Carey Price has been sharp during that span. Price has allowed one goal or less in four of his last six starts. Montreal is getting healthier, and the addition of Ilya Kovalchuk has paid dividends. The veteran winger has four goals in his last four games played." Take MTL. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
02-04-20 | Golden Knights v. Lightning -167 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 25 h 36 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Tampa Lightning. Tampa Bay was the best team in the NHL during the regular season last year, but they got off to a slow start this season. They are really on a roll now though, coming into tonight's game against Vegas as winners of 15 of their last 18. The Knights are at the end of a long road trip, and they have won three of six so far. The Golden Knights are 7-21 in their last 28 games as a road underdog, and they have lost five of their last seven versus Eastern Conference teams. The Lightning are 74-33 in their last 107 games as a favorite. Take TB. GL, Jesse Schule |

02-02-20 | Blue Jackets v. Canadiens -135 | 4-3 | Loss | -135 | 5 h 46 m | Show

02-01-20 | Stars -150 v. Devils | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 17 h 8 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Dallas Stars. The Western Conference is ultra competitive this season, and only two points seperate the 3rd place Dallas Stars from the eighth place Arizona Coyotes. That means that every game is so important, and teams like Dallas can't afford to slip up on the road against the bottom feeders like New Jersey. The Devils have lost four of their last five, and they have allowed 5+ goals in all of those losses. Only the Detroit Red Wings have allowed more goals this season than New Jersey. Take DAL. GL, Jesse Schule |

02-01-20 | Panthers v. Canadiens -110 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 12 h 7 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs are still a long way's back of the final playoff spot in the East, but after what the Blues did last year nobody is going to count them out. They come into Saturday's home game against Florida as winners of five of their last seven, and veteran goalie Carey Price has been sharp during that span. 01-18-20 | Kings v. Flyers -164 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 22 h 24 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Philadelphia Flyers. Philly has been solid at home this season, winning nine of 12 and boasting a record of 15-4-4 overall at the Wells Fargo Center. The Kings have just seven wins in 27 road games so far. This is a tough road trip for the Kings, playing their fifth straight road game on the other side of the country. Philly has a huge edge in special teams play, and this is just not a good spot for the struggling Kings. Take PHI. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
01-14-20 | Canucks v. Jets -130 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 16 h 59 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Winnipeg Jets. The Vancouver Canucks have been on a roll, and they are at the end of a five game road trip tonight in Winnipeg. They haven't had a lot of success in Winnipeg in recent years, losing their last eight visits. In fact the Jets have owned Vancouver, winning 13 of the last 14 meetings. This looks like a let down spot for a Vancouver team that is starting to like their own smell, and a get right game for a Jets team badly in need of a win. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule |

01-07-20 | Penguins v. Golden Knights -140 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -140 | 22 h 18 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Vegas Golden Knights. The Penguins have done just fine without the best player in the world, coming into Vegas tied for second place in the Metropolitan Division. With Crosby nearing a return, the Pens have been dealt a cruel blow. Leading scorer Jake Guentzel will be done for the season after suffering a shoulder injury at the end of December. The Penguins have since lost two of three games. Vegas is looking for a fifth consecutive home victory, and they are 14-7-3 overall at home this season. The Penguins have never won in Vegas, and the home team has won four of the five previous meetings since the Knights joined the NHL. Take VGK. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
12-29-19 | Devils v. Senators -129 | 4-3 | Loss | -129 | 4 h 36 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Ottawa Senators. The Devils come into Ottawa as losers of 10 of their last 13 overall, and they have gone from bad to worse since trading away their best player (Taylor Hall). The Senators aren't exactly lighting it up either, although they have won five of their last 10 overall. The Sens are 4-1 in their last five home games. The home team has won five of the last six head to head meetings, and the Devils are 18-45 in their last 63 road games. The Sens have won four straight as a home favorite. Take OTT. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
12-23-19 | Coyotes v. Predators -148 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 15 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Nashville Predators. The Predators haven't quite been as dominant at home this season as they have been in years past, but they come into tonight's game against Arizona as winners of 3-of-4, all on the road. They are still 9-6-3 at home, and the home team has been the play in previous meetings between these two teams. The home team is 38-16 in the last 54 meetings, and the Coyotes are 8-21-1 in the last 30 meetings in Nashville. This Preds team appears to have turned the corner. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule |

8* |
|||||||
12-10-19 | Sharks v. Predators -165 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 13 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Nashville Predators. The San Jose Sharks are coming off four straight losses, and they allowed 5+ goals in three of those four games. The Predators have a history of dominating the Sharks in Nashville, and Pekka Rinne is 7-0 with a 1.42 GAA in his last seven home starts versus San Jose. Goaltending has been a big problem for the Sharks. Martin Jones has allowed 13 goals on 76 shots in three straight losses, while backup netminder Aaron Dell has lost three straight starts, allowing nine goals in those games. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
12-06-19 | Kings v. Oilers -165 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 40 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers won seven of their first eight home games, but they have since lost their last three home games. Most recently they lost 5-2 to the Ottawa Senators, and I would expect them to respond with a far better effort tonight against the LA Kings. The Kings are just 2-10-1 on the road this season. The Oilers are 4-0 in their last four home games against LA, and the home team is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
11-30-19 | Canucks v. Oilers -120 | 5-2 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 8 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers return home from a successful three game road trip to host the Vancouver Canucks in the first game of a home and home set. Both these teams missed the playoffs last year, but each team started this season with a bang. The Oilers are still in first place in the Pacific Division, but the Canucks have regressed. Vancouver comes into tonight's game with just two wins in their last seven games. The Oilers are coming off a loss to the Avs on the final game of their road trip, but they had won three of the first four games in the five game swing. Edmonton is 7-2-2 at home this season, and they have won five of their last six home games versus Vancouver. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
11-29-19 | Kings v. Sharks -143 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 4 h 37 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks had won nine of their last 10 games heading into a home tilt versus the Jets their last time out, and they came out flat losing by a score of 9-1. They will host LA this afternoon, and they won at LA in over time just the other day. The Kings have shown some life of late, going 5-2-1 in their last eight overall. They are still just 2-8-1 on the road this season though. The Sharks have won six of the last eight head to head meetings, and they are 6-2 in their last eight home games. Take SJS. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
11-28-19 | Devils v. Canadiens -166 | 6-4 | Loss | -166 | 14 h 51 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs host the Devils in the only NHL game on Thanksgiving, and this is a must win for Montreal. While the Devils are three points out of last place in the Eastern Conference, the Habs still have expectations of making the playoffs. This could be the turning point though, and if they don't end this five game losing streak tonight, they might be in trouble. They were embarrassed on home ice in an 8-1 loss to Boston in their last game, and good teams almost always come back from such losses with a heroic effort in their next game. That's what we expect from Montreal tonight. Take MTL. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
11-21-19 | Canucks v. Predators -163 | 6-3 | Loss | -163 | 9 h 30 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Nashville Predators. The Predators have lost five straight, but they showed signs of getting back on track in a competitive 2-1 loss to Winnipeg on Tuesday. They are in a good spot tonight, hosting a Vancouver Canucks team with just one win in their last eight overall. Pekka Rinne got pulled after allowing four goals on 14 shots in a loss to Chicago in his last start, but he's 6-1-2 with a 2.54 GAA at home this season. The Canucks starter Jakob Markstrom is 0-4-2 with a 3.16 GAA in the month of November. One of these teams will get back on track, and my money is on the home team. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule |
