The 3-6 Seattle Seahawks take on the 8-1 Minnesota Vikings this Sunday in the Metrodome in a Week 11 NFC West versus North showdown. Last week, the Seahawks jumped out to an early lead, but defending NFC champion Arizona came storming back to hand Seattle a 31-20 loss. The Vikings got off to a bit of a slow start coming out of its bye week, but they eventually got rolling to win 27-10 over Detroit. These two teams last met in the 2006 season with Minnesota winning 31-13. The Seahawks have gotten the better of the Vikings in recent history, winning three of the last five meetings to take a 6-4 lead in the all-time series. The Minnesota Vikings are listed as a 10.5-point favorite with the total set at 46.5.

Brett Favre is just 4-3 in his career against the Seahawks, but he is 8-1 as a Minnesota Viking, including a perfect 4-0 at the Metrodome. Many experts questioned who Favre would throw to with there not being much star power in the receiving corps, but Favre has developed a great chemistry with Sidney Rice. Rice leads the entire NFC with 786 receiving yards. Rice has allowed the Vikings to stretch the defense and he is averaging a whopping 17.9 yards per catch. Favre and Rice could both be poised for big games against the Seahawks’ suspect pass defense (22nd in the NFL). Favre has also found rookie Percy Harvin a valuable target. He is the team’s second leading receiver and leads all rookies with five touchdowns.

Adrian Peterson leads the NFC with 917 rushing yards. He provides the offensive balance and is a big reason why Minnesota’s passing game has been so successful this season. Seattle must stop Peterson to make the Viking offense one-dimensional or it will have no shot. It is worth noting that the Seahawks are on a 0-5 ATS slide versus teams with a winning record. If you like Minnesota to keep right on rolling and to cover the number in the process, bet the Vikings at -10.5 at Bookmaker.

The Seahawks seem to go as Matt Hasselbeck goes. He will have to be on top of his game to give his team a chance against the explosive Vikings. The former Pro Bowl QB has completed more than 60 percent of his passes in just three games this season and the Seahawks have won all three of those contests. Hasselbeck has some nice weapons in T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Nate Burleson. Houshmandzadeh has 50 catches for 582 yards and three scores this season. His 344 grabs since 2006 are good for second most in the NFL during this span. Nate Burleson adds 45 catches for 562 yards and three scores. Minnesota’s pass defense has shown some vulnerability at times, especially at home when teams have ideal conditions in the dome. In fact, the Vikings are allowing 275 passing yards per game on 62.8 percent passing at home this season.  Hasselback and his playmakers could be poised to give the Vikings more than they bargained for. It is worth noting that the Vikings are 1-11-1 ATS in their last 13 games as a favorite of 10.5 or more points. If you think odds makers are spotting Seattle too many points, bet the Seahawks at +10.5 at Bookmaker.
