N.Y. Yankees at St. Louis 7:10 ET Yankees over Cardinals- A a child in the New York metropolitan area and being a Yankees 'hater' as I was a Mays fan and Mantle was the guy I booed. (I later in life apologized personally to 'The 'Mick'). But, the point is that I always rooted for the Cardinals not only because the had the coolest uniforms and they were the only team aside from the old New York Giants that held an advantage over the Yankees. Okay so much for that but, after blowing last night's game they way they did I expect new York be take command early here and cruise to a win. Take the YANKEES! |

Boston at Kansas City 8:10 ET Red Sox over Royals- My first thought about this game is that Zack Greinke (3-6, 4.41 ERA) is an underdog at home and against an unannounced starter during the over-nights. I think we all know why as he has his 'swan song' season with Kansa City and just doesn't has 'it' any more (maybe a flash or so but no longer top shelf. Greinke, who owns a 2-5 record and a 5.09 ERA in nine career appearances (eight starts) against the Red Sox. Tampa Bay at Baltimore 7:05 ET Rays over Orioles- My goodness woke has taken over baseball to the point where the Orioles are better then .500 and truthfully they have been playing really good baseball. With Monday's loss the Rays have dropped four straight including the last two in Baltimore but tonight they send their most effective hurler to the hill as Drew Rasmussen (6-3, 3.13 ERA) will be their stopper. The O's will start Tyler Wells (7-6, 3.69) who doesn't strike out many but is difficult to hit surrendering 116 hits in 147 MLB innings. The Padres' won my Megabucks release 2-1 Saturday and their confidence might be improving after their fourth win in five games. San Diego had lost 10 of its previous 14. Carrasco faced the Padres for the first time in his career June 6, when he earned the win after allowing two runs over seven innings in the Mets' 11-5 victory. Cleveland at Chicago White Sox 8:00 ET (2nd Game) Guardians over White Sox- I hate posting games that are played during double-headers are managers see as an opportunity to play their dregs, just where and when is the question. Lance Lynn Lynn (1-3, 7.50 ERA) just doesn't have it anymore at least from I have seen he is toast. Konnor Pilkington (1-2, 4.24) is expected to be called up for the start for Cleveland and the Guardians are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. Take CLEVELAND |

San Diego at N.Y Mets 7:10 ET Padres over Mets- Right-hander Chris Bassitt (7-6, 3.79 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Mets against Padres left-hander Blake Snell (1-5, 5.22). Blake Snell hasn't been his best yet this season but he did put together a pair of back-to-back quality starts before the break. The Mets seem to have lost their mojo as their weaknesses are beginning to show. Today's starter for New York will be Chris Bassett who has been good but not overwhelmingly great. Bassitt is 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA in two career starts against the Padres. Snell is 2-3 with a 3.21 ERA in five starts against the Mets. Take SAN DIEGO! |

07-16-22 | Brewers +117 v. Giants | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 14 m | Show |
Milwaukee at San Francisco 7:15 ET Brewers over Giants- The merry-go-round of Giants base runners would still be going on as they scored six runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeated the Brewers last night if the winning runs scored and ended the game. Major league saves leader Josh Hader (0-4, 4.50 ERA) entered the contest with a 3-run lead and after facing seven batters six had scored and the game was history. First place Milwaukee will send Eric Lauer (6-3, 3.83) to the mound and he has carried a heavy load his last two times out throwing 102 and 101 pitches in five and six innings respectively. Alex Cobb (3-4, 4.57) has not been as effective in 2022 as in seasons past as he has struggled a bit. Brewers are 5-2 in Frisco after last night's loss and regroup today. Take MILWAUKEE! |
07-15-22 | Brewers -118 v. Giants | Top | 5-8 | Loss | -118 | 19 h 47 m | Show |
Milwaukee at San Francisco 10:15 ET Brewers over Giants- Ya know, Milwaukee played one of those games where you never believed that you could win. They had 11 hits in the fifth inning and had scored only one run while the Giants had two runs on two hits. Burnes was his usual self and they gutted out a gritty win and are now favored on the road again. So, we will have them again with Brandon Woodruff (7-3, 4.01 ERA) on the hill as we will back the Brewers who are 5-1 in their last six in San Francisco. Take MILWAUKEE! |
07-15-22 | White Sox v. Twins -130 | 6-2 | Loss | -130 | 17 h 40 m | Show
Chicago White Sox at Minnesota 8:10 ET Twins over Pale Hose- Chicago's Michael Kopech (2-6, 3.35 ERA) threw one of the most impressive performances against the Yankees back in May and has gone 1-5 in his last eight starts including getting hammer by this same Twins July 5 for six earned runs in 4.2 surrendering eight hits and six weeks. Minnesota starter Devin Smeltzer (4-2, 3.92) is 0-1 in his last three starts getting hit hard in the last two but, nowhere near as bad as they other guy. Twins are 7-2 in the last nine meetings including 5-1 at home. Take MINNESOTA! |
07-15-22 | Orioles v. Rays -115 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 16 h 39 m | Show
Baltimore at Tampa Bay 7:10 ET Rays over Orioles- Baltimore's improbable 10 game winning streak and the truth of the matter is that they sandwiched seven home games in before winning their last two at Wrigley against the Cubs. What I'm getting at is that they are seven games under .500 on the road while Tampa Bay with one of the best home field advantages is 12 games over 500. as hosts. Orioles are even worse in Tampa where they are 14-39 in the last 53 meetings. Take TAMPA BAY! |
07-14-22 | Brewers -105 v. Giants | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 48 m | Show
Milwaukee at San Francisco 9:45 ET Brewers over Giants- A great matchup of a pair of All-Stars that will be teammates in LA for the gala event as Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes (7-4, 2.20 ERA) will start for Colorado and will be opposed by Carlos Rodon (8-5, 2.70) for the Giants. Both hurlers have been outstanding as Rodon has allowed only 74 hits in 100 innings and Burnes has been even better allowing just 69 hits in 106.1 innings. Brewers are 4-1 in their last five games in San Francisco and the under is 3-1-1. I expect this to stay under and for MILWAUKEE to WIN! |

07-14-22 | Red Sox v. Rays -124 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 6 h 58 m | Show
Boston at Tampa Bay 7:05 ET Rays over Red Sox- Both of these clubs with 47 wins will keep on truckin' despite New York's huge lead in the Al east and baseball overall. Tampa Bay sends Drew Rasmussen (5-3, 3.11 ERA) to the bump while Boston will send Kutter Crawford (23-2, 4.50) who is making his second straight start in 12 appearances after shutting down the Yankees on one run in five innings last time out. Rays 27-17 at home and have won last two over Boston as hosts. Take TAMPA BAY! |
07-14-22 | Padres -130 v. Rockies | 5-8 | Loss | -130 | 2 h 27 m | Show
San Diego at Colorado 3:10 ET Padres over Rockies- Okay now that Blake Snell (1-5, 4.66 ERA) has had a 'mojo' change as he posted his first win of the season on his 10th start last week besting the Giants while striking out 11 following a 12 K outing against the Dodgers. Rockies starter Kyle Freeman (4-7, 4.70) has surrendered more hits than innings pitched and that is never a good sign. Take SAN DIEGO! |
07-13-22 | Astros v. Angels -118 | Top | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 13 h 59 m | Show |
Houston at L.A. Angels 9:35 ET Angels over Astros- With 'Mickey' Trout playing or not playing like an also-ran the Angels average just 4.08 runs a game ranking 25th among their peers. The best thing they have going for them is Shohei Ohtani (8-4, 2.44 ERA) who has been un-hittable on the mound of late. He has surrendered just 60 hits in 81 innings and has not allowed a run in his last four starts covering 27 innings and only one run in his five starts in 34 innings. He has a tough mound opponent tonight in Christian Javier (6-4, 3.01) who was pounded for five earned runs in five innings his last time out. Take ANGELS! |
07-13-22 | Orioles v. Cubs -129 | 7-1 | Loss | -129 | 11 h 24 m | Show
Baltimore at Chicago Cubs 8:10 ET Cubs over Orioles- How 'bout dat...the Orioles are now at 44-44 after winning eight straight games and it feels like the late 60's (for those that believe in ancient history that is when Baltimore was actually good). Tonight the O's will start Spenser Watkins (2-1, 4.15 ERA) and he has been at his best in his last three starts going 17.2 innings while surrendering only two earned runs. Chicago will send Justin Steele (3-5, 4.13) and he is off his best showing of the season allowing just two hits in 7.0 innings against the Brewers. Despite their current hot streak Baltimore is just 1-6 in the last seven meetings and the Cubs are 5-2 in their last seven games against right-handed starters. Take the CUBS! |
07-13-22 | White Sox v. Guardians +105 | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 28 m | Show
Chicago W.S. at Cleveland 7:10 ET Watch Dogs over White Sox- Perhaps the biggest disappointment this season my be the play of the White Sox as their manager once again called for an intentional base-on-balls while having the batter in a hole with the count. Louis Giolito (5-5, 5.05 ERA) has shown wear as he has surrendered 35 earned runs in his last eight starts covering 43 innings (not good). Cleveland's Aaron Civale (2-5, 6.28) has had his own issues but is off his best outing of the season allowing just one run in seven innings. The White Sox are 1-6 in the last seven meetings and just 19-40 at Cleveland the last 59 meetings. Take CLEVELAND! |

Tampa Bay is not what they have been in the past but they do get ready when top pitchers take the mound for their opponents. The Rays are 4-1 in the last five meetings against the Sox and 10-4 in the last 14 games in Tampa. The Red Sox are 2-7 in their last nine games on artificial turf and the Rays are 5-1 in their last six against the AL East. Take TAMPA BAY! |
07-11-22 | Mets v. Braves -116 | 4-1 | Loss | -116 | 12 h 35 m | Show
New York Mets at Atlanta 7:20 ET Braves over Mets- The Mets will use right-hander Max Scherzer (5-1, 2.26 ERA) for his second outing since returning from the injured list. The Braves have lefty Max Fried (9-2, 2.52) ready to go. The surging Braves have pulled within 1 1/2 games of the NL East Division-leading Mets entering this series as Atlanta won for the sixth time in its last seven games. |||||||
07-11-22 | Phillies -105 v. Cardinals | Top | 1-6 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 31 m | Show |
Philadelphia at St. Louis 7:15 ET Phillies over Cardinals- It happens often enough to pitchers that sometime we don't notice when a team doesn't score runs for a particular hurler and that is the case with Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas (5-7, 2.72 ERA) has suffered from poor run support all season. The team has been shut out in four of his starts and it scored just once in two others. He is 1-1 with a 3.93 ERA in four career appearances against the Phillies, including three starts. The Phillies, who have won seven of their last 10 games, will start Aaron Nola after using five relievers Sunday in a bullpen game. Nola (5-6, 3.15 ERA) has worked at least seven innings in six straight starts. Nola is 5-2 with a 2.19 ERA in eight career starts against the Cardinals. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
07-10-22 | Yankees v. Red Sox +118 | 6-11 | Win | 118 | 12 h 35 m | Show
New York Yankees at Boston 7:15 ET Red Sox over Yankees- MLB epic rivalry take center stage as the Red Sox host the Yankees in the Sunday night ESPN battle. New York who leads the majors in scoring runs per game will send former No. 1 pick by the Pirates James Taillon (9-2, 3.83 ERA) to start in Fenway Park and that can be intimating. Boston will send out six-year veteran Nick Pivetta (8-6, 3.86 ERA) to face the Bronx Bombers and he has surrendered just 83 hits in over 100 innings of work. With an inspiring win last night the 'Mojo' carries over for the Sox tonight. Take BOSTON! |
07-10-22 | Giants +110 v. Padres | Top | 12-0 | Win | 110 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
San Francisco at San Diego 4:10 ET Giants over Padres- San Francisco had lost seven straight before getting into the win column against Arizona lost two more and then recovered as our Megabucks winner 3-1 over the Padres last night. San Diego I believe is the most overrated team in MLB as most expect them to challenge the Dodgers and Giants in the West. The Giants will send Alex Woods (5-7, 4.83 ERA) to the mound while the Padres will send MacKenzie Gore (4-3, 3.18) and it may seem the San Diego has the advantage being home and have a more effective hurler but, they just don't play well against better competition. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
07-10-22 | Twins v. Rangers -113 | 6-5 | Loss | -113 | 7 h 1 m | Show
Minnesota at Texas 2:35 ET Rangers over Twins- Dylan Bundy (4-4, 4.15 ERA) gets the nod for the Twins while Dane Dunning (1-6, 4.15) take the hill for Texas. Bundy's starts just about average five inning as he surrenders over 10 hits per nine innings pitched. Dunning isn't much better but the Rangers are 6-2 in their last eight home games while Minnesota is 2-6 in their last eight on the road. Take TEXAS! |
07-09-22 | Blue Jays v. Mariners +110 | 1-2 | Win | 110 | 15 h 39 m | Show
Toronto at Seattle 10:10 ET Mariners over Blue Jays- Seattle will start Robbie Rays (7-6, 3.62) who had a season high 12 strikeouts last time out and has won his last three decisions while the Blue Jays will send out their best in Alek Menoha (9-2, 2.33) who will be hard to hit as he has surrendered only 78 hits in 100 innings. The Jays struggle against the Mariners as they are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings and 1-5 in their last six in Seattle. Take the MARINERS! |
07-09-22 | Giants -105 v. Padres | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show
San Francisco at San Diego 7:15 ET Giants over Padres- I find this one a bit strange as the struggling Giants opened a favorite at San Diego and the weird part about it is that the Padres are sending Yu Darvish (7-3, 3.53 ERA) to the hill. The Giants will send Carlos Rodon (7-5, 2.87) out to start and he is off his longest stint of the season. After a terrible stretch the Giants have won their last two and seem to have regained this their confidence. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
07-09-22 | Rockies +112 v. Diamondbacks | 2-9 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 40 m | Show
Colorado at Arizona 4:10 ET Rockies over Diamondbacks- Madison Bumgarner (4-8, 3.74 ERA) can be considered the greatest Giants pitcher in playoff history as his WS MVP awards have lee San Francisco to Championships. The problem for him is not so much a drop off in performance but the team he is playing for. Colorado will start Kyle Freeman (4-6, 4.43) has been nothing more than average but the Rockies can score runs no matter where they are playing and they are 4-0 in the last four meetings. Take COLORADO! |
07-08-22 | Phillies -118 v. Cardinals | Top | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 12 h 30 m | Show |
Philadelphia at St. Louis 8:15 ET Phillies over Cardinals- St. Louis' Adam Wainwright (6-6, 3.26 ERA) is 7-5 with a 3.18 ERA in 18 career appearances (16 starts) against the Phillies. Today, he gets a rematch with pitcher Zack Wheeler (7-4, 2.66 ERA) who defeated him 4-0 last week. Wheeler is 2-2 with a 3.26 ERA in five career starts against the Cardinals. Phillies are 8-2 against right-handed starters in their lat 10 road games. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
07-08-22 | Twins -114 v. Rangers | 5-6 | Loss | -114 | 11 h 24 m | Show
Minnesota at Texas 8:05 ET Rangers over Twins- One way or another it is going to be a gray day in Texas no matter the final result as today's pitching matchup features Sonny Gray (4-1, 2.47 ERA) for the Twins, and Jon Gray (4-4, 3.96) -- no relation -- going for the Rangers. Sonny Gray has enjoyed his share of success against the Rangers. In his 10-year MLB career, the right-hander has a 9-3 record with a 2.86 ERA in 94 1/3 innings over 15 appearances (14 starts) while facing Texas. Right-hander Jon Gray will be pitching against the Twins for the first time. Take TEXAS! |
07-08-22 | Yankees -142 v. Red Sox | 12-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 28 m | Show
New York Yankees at Boston 7:05 ET Yankees over Red Sox- Boston will start right-hander Connor Seabold (0-1, 8.31 ERA), as Michael Wacha could be headed to the injured list with what Cora called "dead arm" earlier this week. Left-hander Nestor Cortes (7-3, 2.44 ERA) is set to take the ball for New York, making his second career start against the Red Sox. In seven overall appearances vs. Boston, he has no decisions and an 8.16 ERA. Yankees are 9-2 in the last 11 meetings including 4-1 in Boston. Take the YANKEES! |
07-07-22 | Giants +125 v. Padres | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 3 m | Show |
San Francisco at San Diego 9:40 ET Giants over Padres- How 'bout those Giants...they are playing like dwarfs now that the Giants have broken their losing streak after trailing early 4-0 last night and were playing badly before their win yesterday. But, the their ace is here. Logan Webb (7-3, 3.13 ERA) will be leading the charge for the Jints while San Diego will send out their best in Joe Musgrove (8-2, 2.25). Now, poor Joe has dropped his last two after starting 8-0 and the 'mojo' just might have slipped away. Anyway, the Giants 'mojo' has turned back for the good. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
